In this activity, you will study some web pages and web applications to evaluate how their developers
applied concepts of web design and interfaces. Answer the accompanying questions on each item.

1. Study the Department of Agriculture home page shown below and visit their website
https://www.da.gov.ph/.
2. After studying and visiting the said website above, does the developer comply with the
guidelines for Visual Display Layout?

 If yes, enumerate some guidelines that they follow and explain your answer.

 If no, explain your answer why do you think that the developer did not comply the
guidelines.

3. Does the design of this Web page convey an appropriate message to users? What message do
you think it conveys?

4. From the previous chapter that defined the primary goal of HCI as giving users what they want,
instead of what the developer thinks they want. Do you think this page achieves that goal? Why
or why not?

5. Study and review the DFA Individual Appointment – Personal Information below.
6. After studying and reviewing the DFA Individual Appointment – Personal Information above,
does it apply the guidelines in using the input methods to facilitate data entry?

 If yes, enumerate some guidelines that they follow and explain your answer.

 If no, explain your answer why do you think that the developer did not comply the

7. Look for a web page that you think it has a poor design and explain your answer. Include
screenshots of the web page.

8. Do some research about two different mobile application.

 A good design mobile application. Explain why it has a tailored for human use, and not
one that is only functional or usable. Include screenshots of the application.

 A poor design mobile application and why do you think it can cause problem to the user.
