Lesson- 8 A trip to Mars

STD -3

Ready, set, let's go!

Design and compose your own book on Planet Mars! (A treasure Trove).

Use any kind of paper for the book.

Based on the above topic, imagine and create your own Mars Station.

Brainstorm ideas on what you have heard and read about Mars.

A few guidelines to help you through-

1. Read upon Mars:

Why would people want to go to Mars?
What are some of the challenges we might face when we visit Mars?

Create a three-column table. In the first column, list everything you know about Mars. In
the second column, list everything you’d like to learn about Mars. And in the third
column, list the new things you learn throughout this activity.

2. Collect pictures of Mars / astronauts / spaceships to paste them in your book.

(Make it as creative as you can).

3. List some qualities you think would be important for the astronauts to possess in order to
have a successful mission. Why are they important? (write a small paragraph).

4. Design your own spacecraft: Draw and colour your spacecraft &spacesuit.
Imagine you are a research scientist, design your own spacecraft and spacesuit.

5. Can we grow food on Mars or what types of food are necessary to be healthy? Write a
small paragraph on it and paste some pictures.
6. Return back to Earth: Share your experiences with others on Earth - Summarize the
whole mission in a small concluding paragraph - paste some pictures here too. How was
your experience in this activity and what you learnt through it?

Note: Make your book as creative as you can with your imagination. You could use
pictures, drawings or pop up pictures to add in your book. Keep it as a treasure
trove and an envy to others! Good Luck!!
