Introduction

For the first assignment of CGE 653, we are assigned to choose a movie related to Health,
safety and Environment. This movie has all criteria that needed for this assignment which
are accident, causes of accident and prevention action. Our group has decided to choose
the movie Pressure (2015). This movie is directed by Ron Scalpello and was released on
12th June 2015 by Bigscope Films. Pressure is based on an original story by Louis Baxter,
the script was written by Alan McKenna and Paul Staheli.

The best thing about this movie is the accident was happened at the offshore and we can
see the situation at the sea bed with all aquatic lives and pipelines. This movie take place in
the Somalia coast, a group of divers the veteran divers Engel, Mitchell, Hurst and the rookie
Jones are assigned to repair an oil pipeline on the bottom of the sea by the Vaxxilon
representative Karsen. They are advised that a storm is coming, but the Diving Support
Vessel Lorimer lowers the bell with the team. They succeed to weld the pipeline but the
storm comes and the vessel sinks, killing the whole crew. This four saturation divers are
trapped beneath the most hostile ocean on earth and beyond the extremes of human
endurance.

The cast for this movie are Danny Huston as Engel, Matthew Goode as Mitchell, Joe Cole as
Jones and Alan McKenna as Hurst. The genre of this movie is adventure and thriller and it is
R rated. Even though this movie is full of thrill and suspense action, this movie got low rating
which is 5.6 from IMDB and 38% from rotten tomatoes. Pressure only collected $210,099 in
worldwide box office.

In conclusion, this movie is all about the Claustrophobia, Paranoia, Incarceration and
Survival. One of great quote in this movie is “A man goes to sea for many reasons. Perhaps
to sense its beauty and stare at the infinite horizon that offers no questions, seeks no
answers. Perhaps to stand in awe of its power, savagery, grace. This is all true, but there are
also those who go to sea ultimately because they are lost and never want to be found”. In
this report, we will explain in detail about the accident and how to prevent it.
