1. In the current mirror circuit of fig1, both the transistors are matched.
Determine R and the lowest possible Vo. Find the output resistance of the
current source. Also find the change in the output current for a change of
0.5V in the output voltage.

2. Q1 and Q2 are matched transistors in the circuit of fig2. Find the required
value of R and the device dimensions so that the nominal output current,
Io = 200µA, when Vo = VGS. Further it is required that the current source
should operate for Vo in the range of 0.25V to VDD and the change in Io over
this range should be limited to 5% of the nominal Io. Find also the output
impedance of the current source.

3. In the current steering circuit of fig3, determine the widths of all devices,
value of R and the output resistances of current source Q2 and current sink
Q5 for obtaining I2 = 100µA, I3 = I4 = 40µA and I5= 75µA. Further the
current source Q2 should operate properly for voltages at its drain as high as
+1.3V and current sink Q5 for its drain voltage as low as – 1.2V.

4. The current mirror circuit of fig4 is used as an amplifier. Determine vo/vin.

5. In the circuit of fig5, determine V1, V2, V3, V4, V5 and I for R=30K.

6. The reference current in the Wilson mirror circuit of fig6 is 25µA.

Determine the output current Io, VG2, VG3 and the lowest possible Vo. Find
the values of gm and ro of Q2 and Q3 and the output resistance of the mirror.

7. In the circuit of fig7, find Ro if β = 100, VBE = 0.7V and VA = 100V.

8. a) Design a Widlar current mirror to provide an output current of 10µA. The

reference current is 100µA. The BJTs used have very high β and V BE = 0.7V

at 1mA of current. b) If β = 200 and VA = 50V, find the output resistance

and find the change in the output current corresponding to a 5V change in
the output voltage.

9. In the mirror circuit of fig8, assume BJTs with very high β and VBE = 0.7V
at 1mA. Find the value of R that will result in Io = 1µA. For the above
design, find Ro assuming β = 200 and VA = 50V.
