The leadership style that best depicts my values and beliefs is a servant leader. A

servant leader put their followers first and are meant to serve them in the best way possible. In

order for a school to be successful a leader must follow the schools mission and vision and lead

with student academic growth and well-being. In order to do this, the leader must be active

within the school community, lend support when needed, and build relationships. Servant leaders

empower followers and help them develop to their full potential. These leaders lead in ways that

serve the greater good of the organization, community, and society at large (Sage Publications,

2019).

I value strong relationships with everyone in the building. Collaboration,

communication, and teamwork help make the school environment positive and lead to more

success. Everyone who walks into the school should be treated fairly and as an equal. No

position or authority should be intimidating or looked to as “above” another. As leader, I want to

set expectations and make them attainable by doing what I can to support everyone.

The environment in the building should be inclusive and everyone will have a chance to

give feedback or input when needed. This helps a servant leader make the best possible

decisions, set new goals, or fix any issues. I am to motivate other by leading with my values and

beliefs and working together to create the best outcomes for students.
