TOPIC : (FORMAL LETTER)

Portion for the day – Guidelines for formal letter :

Format :

 Sender’s address in three lines : house number, name of the location as well as the name of
the city with postal/pincode. (with punctuations ). The first letter of each word should be in
capital.

 Date – 19th April 2021
Leave one line……
 Receiver’s address in four lines : rank/designation, name of the municipal
corporation/newspaper/ applications, location and city with full pincode.

 Salutation : customary greeting ( Dear Sir or Madam, )
Leave one line…..
 Content/ matter/ body in three paras :
- First para – introduce yourself and state the purpose of writing the letter.
- Second para- mention the specific details of the topic.
- Third para – conclude/ end with a polite request, suggestions and so on. It mentions
what you want the receiver to do.

 Subscription : short and polite closing that concludes the letter below the para after leaving
two lines

Note:

- Do not write the explanation in the exercise-book .

- Submission date of exercise-books on 30th April, 2021 from 11 am to 1 pm.
