ACADEMIC PLANNING (2021-22)

CLASSES (III-V)
Cir no.20/Acad/I-XII/2021-22 3rd July 2021

“The highest education is that which does not merely give us information but makes our life in harmony
with all existence” - Rabindranath Tagore
Dear Parents,
Greetings from Akshara!!
We have set our foot in the academic session 2021-22 with multifarious achievements and innovative
teaching learning intrigues. We pave forward with the conviction to brace new emerging technologies with
student centric activities to create a sanctuary of joyous and eager learners. With our eyes set on the
zenith of the perfection, few more engaging activities will be the part of the curriculum, which are as
follows:

ASSESSMENT TIME: To ensure the continuous upward movement of the learning curve of our students,
the teachers are taking informal assessments of the students in various forms such as subject enrichment
activities, portfolio etc., It is now time for UT1, which is scheduled from 26th July 2021. The objective of
these assessments is to get information about the learning that has happened and to help us identify any
gaps in their understanding of concepts. The teachers will be handholding and guiding the students. The
teachers will take proper revision of the syllabus, proper practice sessions will be taken to make students
comfortable with the new pattern of assessment. The syllabus and the timetable of the same has already
been shared.

HOME ROOMS: We recognize the intellectual, social and emotional growth of our children doesn’t begin
and end when the school bell rings. To offer the extended community of support to our students
Homerooms are scheduled every day in the evening from 4 pm to 5 pm, so that they can freely interact
with the teacher and peers and discuss important concepts. These homerooms are designed to check the
writing practice, help in homework completion, to clarify conceptual doubts, remedial classes for the
students, Scholarship Exam guidance. These classes are purely optional.

HOMEWORK SUBMISSION: Homework makes the students to use their time constructively, work
independently and engage better with the subject matter. It will also improve memory and critical
thinking. Students are advised to check Parent App every day for the Home work and do submission of
assignments before the due date and in case of doubts they may discuss the same with the respective
teachers during sessions.

READING CORNER: Reading develops a child’s imagination and creativity, and is a great approach to
support a child to dream! We have made library books available for our students. Interested parents can
come to school, and get library books issued. They can contact the admin of the WhatsApp group and
reserve their slots for this purpose. We are also sharing the audio library with our students. The Reading
Corner has been created in the Google Classroom/ MS-Teams where language teachers have uploaded
the e-stories and reading material. Students are advised to read them and review of the same is
discussed during LEP classes.
ACTIVITIES: The importance of co-curricular activities is immense. The participation in various CCA
activities helps students in emotional development, social skill development, and overall personality
development. The parents are requested to encourage the students to participate enthusiastically in
these activities. We have included some easy Yoga Asanas in our assembly, it helps to instil confidence
and to bring learning to children on an experiential level.
To make our students acquainted with their school we will be organising virtual tour of the classrooms
and activity rooms in the last week of July.

LET’S CONNECT: Apart from the regular interactive sessions, the doubt clearing sessions and the
remedial sessions are already functional now. If the child needs more assistance in any of the concepts,
the respective subject teachers are available on call every evening from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm by prior
appointment. The parent can text their concerns to the teacher and can book an appointment through
WhatsApp.
The appreciation and the encouragement received from our parents during the first PTM really
motivated us.
We are looking forward to meeting our parents once again during the virtual PTM scheduled on
24th July 2021, Saturday.
