*General Well Being: Buyer agrees to provide for dog/puppy a safe environment, exercise,
nutritious food, and routine healthcare. Buyer agrees that under no circumstances is dog/puppy to
be released to or sold to any establishment such as pet shop, shelter/pound/humane society,
research facility, or used in violent activities such as dog fighting.

*Transfer of Ownership: If at any time, Buyer can no longer retain possession of dog/puppy,
Seller must be notified and the dog/puppy returned to Seller at Buyer's expense. (We care very
much for the puppies we raise and they are always welcome to return to us under any
circumstances, no questions asked or explanations needed).
Buyer may also help find dog/puppy a suitable new home with Seller's written permission.

*Release of Claims: Seller is released from any and all expenses, liabilities, damages, or injuries
caused by dog/puppy after placement with Buyer.

*Payment: Payment is due in full and must have cleared prior to release of dog/puppy to Buyer.
We only accept cash on day of pick up if there is an outstanding balance.

*Registration: We are proud of our puppies, so we ask that our kennel name Escalante be the
first word in your dog/puppy's AKC registered name. Please be sure to spell this correctly. If you
do not include this as the first word (correctly spelled) in your dog's AKC registered name, this
warranty is absolutely void.
*Dog/puppy is promised to be virus-free for 72 hours from the date of pick-up and to be of sound
health and temperament at the time of sale to the best of our knowledge. Seller does not guarantee
against any communicable diseases beyond the 72 hours of buyer receiving the dog/puppy. If
buyer does not pick up in person and chooses to ship puppy seller voids virus-free guarantee.
I as the Buyer have read and agree to the above virus warranty. ________

*Dog/puppy has been dewormed at least twice before leaving Seller. However, recurring
parasites (including but not limited to: giardia, coccidia, roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms,
pinworms, fleas, and ticks) are a very common issue in young animals (especially in puppies), are
easily treated, and are therefore not covered by this warranty.

*Dog/puppy was examined by a licensed veterinarian before leaving Seller. Any notes or
concerns mentioned by Seller’s veterinarian regarding dog/ puppy of choice have been explained
to Buyer and made note of in the space below:

*Buyer has 72 hours (excluding holidays and weekends) after pick-up date to have dog/puppy
examined by a licensed veterinarian to determine if the dog/ puppy is free from serious illness or
genetic life-threatening conditions/defects for warranty to be valid. If any serious illness or life-
threatening conditions are found, Buyer must notify Seller immediately of any issue, before any
treatment or procedure has taken place, in order for warranty to be honored. Copies of all
veterinary findings must be submitted to Seller.
Acceptable documentation includes:
a) photocopies via postal mail
b) clear, in-focus photos or PDF files of documents via email or text

At this time, Buyer must return this dog/puppy at Buyer’s expense to Seller within 48 hours and
be given either:

a) a replacement dog/puppy when next dog/ puppy is available (may take up to one year)
OR
b) a full refund
*This warranty does not cover common/nonlife-threatening/trivial conditions, and those that
cannot be tested for including but not limited to: undescended testicles, recessed vulva, urinary
tract infections, entropion, ectropion, cherry eye, umbilical hernia, puppy strangles, over bites,
under bites, temperament flaws, or poor disposition. Due to many factors beyond our control,
Seller furthermore makes no guarantee as to the suitability of any particular dog/puppy as a
show/breeding prospect.

28 Month Extended Warranty

*This warranty covers the dog/puppy should it be determined to be affected/afflicted with one or
more of the following diseases and defects and the required proof is provided:

-EIC (copy of DNA test results required)

-CNM (copy of DNA test results required)
-DM (copy of DNA test results required)
-PRA (copy of DNA test results or CERF exam results required)
-Hip Dysplasia (copies of veterinary x-rays and diagnosis & OFA evaluation required)
-Elbow Dysplasia (copies of veterinary x-rays and diagnosis & OFA evaluation required)
-Life-threatening heart defect (copy of veterinary diagnosis and OFA evaluation required)

If dog/puppy is determined to be a carrier of any of these diseases, it will never be affected by it.
Therefore carriers are not covered by this warranty.

*Seller must be notified immediately of any issue, before any treatment or procedure has taken
place, in order for warranty to be honored. This warranty is valid for 28 months from date of
birth, so there is adequate time to submit OFA x-rays and receive results if necessary.

*Should the dog/puppy be diagnosed and documented by a licensed veterinarian or laboratory to

have faulty hips, elbows, heart, or be afflicted with PRA, DM, EIC, or CNM within 28 months

from date of birth, a replacement dog/puppy of equal value will be offered from the Seller’s next
available litter.
Preferences of Buyer will certainly be taken into consideration, depending on availability, but the
choice of replacement puppy is ultimately at Seller's discretion. It may take up to one year for a
replacement puppy to become available.
*No money will be refunded, and no monetary compensation will be given under any
circumstances.
*Buyer may return ill dog/puppy to the Seller if desired, but is not required to do so.
*This warranty does not include non-genetic defects resulting from things including, but not
limited to obesity, neglect, malnutrition, injury, or excessive exercise and wear. This warranty is
absolutely void if dog/puppy is spayed, neutered, or bred prior to 18 months of age.
I as the Buyer have read and agree to the above warranty terms.________
As the Seller, I certify that this dog/puppy has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, dewormed, and
vaccinated; and is free from illness and defects to the best of my knowledge. This agreement is valid only
for the original Buyer named herein and is nontransferable.

everything stated herein. I have received the above mentioned dog/ puppy into my possession and have

We love updates and pictures throughout the lives of our puppies. You can choose whether we
keep them to ourselves or share them.

Buyer gives permission for Escalante Kennels to use any submitted photos or text on the
Escalante Kennels website, Facebook page and advertising materials.

Thank you for purchasing a puppy from Escalante Kennels! We have done our best to provide you with a healthy,
happy, well-socialized puppy, and we hope you will enjoy your new pup immensely!

***We recommend that you do NOT expose your new puppy to any public places where other dogs will be present
such as public parks, pet stores or friends houses until your puppy is around 12-14 weeks old. Their immune systems

are still immature and vaccines are not foolproof in preventing communicable diseases. Think of your puppy as a
newborn and take the same health precautions for the first several months of their life.
