At the beginning of the Tudor period, the population is somewhat unknown, between 2.6 to 2.8
million. By the end, it has gone beyond 4 million. In 1345, the population of England may have been
6 million. 1485, 4 million. Due to plague, famine etc.

The 3-field system broke over the 14th and 15th century because in Europe and in England, there was
a period of prosperity. Peace brought around after the wars of the Roses. Due to trading and
expansion, you could now afford more food, increasing population toward the end of the 15th
century. This then increased the demand of wool and leather. This then led to arable land being used
for sheep farming, the beginning of the end of the 3-field system. This was only for the peasant.

Tithe to the church, a tax of 1/10 th of produce. That money is given to the vagrants and the poor.
