RE: TEACHING-LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT IN THE JANUARY 2022 SEMESTER


(SESSION 202201)

The TAR UC circular dated 29 October 2021 on teaching-learning and assessment in the January 2022
semester (Session 202201) refers.

FAFB has decided that all teaching-learning and assessment for all Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree
programmes in the coming semester (Session 202201) which is due to commence on 17 January 2022 will
remain fully online from Week 1 to Week 4.

Classes (lectures, tutorials and practicals) from 14 February 2022 (Week 5) onwards shall be
conducted through a mixture of the following:

1. Face-to-face (F2F) classes;


2. Online classes;
3. Hybrid mode classes that are a combination of face-to-face (F2F) and online classes.

The above decision for a mixture of teaching-learning methods has been made for the safety of all students
and staff. The detailed arrangements are as follows:

For Lectures on Hybrid mode:

Students will be divided into 2 lecture groups (A or B) which will take turns to attend F2F and online lecture
classes on an alternate week basis.

For example:

Lecture Group A will attend F2F lectures in Weeks 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13 and Online lectures in Weeks 6, 8, 10,
12 and 14, while Lecture Group B will attend F2F lectures in Weeks 6, 8, 10,12 and 14 and Online lectures
in Weeks 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13..

For Tutorials on Hybrid mode:

Each tutorial group will be divided into 2 sub-groups which will take turns to attend F2F and Online tutorial
classes on an alternate week basis.

For example:

Tutorial sub-group 1A will attend F2F tutorial classes in Weeks 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13, and Online tutorial classes
in Weeks 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14, while Tutorial sub-group 1B will attend F2F tutorial classes in Weeks 6, 8,10,12
and 14 and Online tutorial classes in Weeks 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13.

The Programme Leader will work with the respective class representatives on the arrangement of students
in each tutorial grouping into Sub-group A and Sub-group B.The arrangement of students into Sub-group A
and Sub-group B will have to be finalised in advance before Week 5.
Please take note that the arrangement of the classes is subject to changes based on the directive of the
Ministry of Higher Education.

All staff and students are reminded to strictly observe all COVID-19 Standard Operating Procedures at all
