Good morning, everyone

Today we r going to discuss with u all about hypertension and stroke

Hypertension and stroke come under non communicable disease which means it cannot be
transferred directly from one person to another.
Hypertension, also known as high or raised blood pressure, is a condition in which the
blood vessels have persistently raised pressure. There is also a direct relation between
cardiovascular risk and blood pressure. The higher the blood pressure the higher the risk of
stroke.

The main organ that can damage by hypertension are heart, kidney, brain, retina and arterial blood
vessels and also the rate of progression of organ damage varies from one individual to another.

Now if talk about measurement of blood pressure it is very important for the patient to sit in a
relax position for at least 2-3 minutes before going for a measurement. Relax the arm and
place the cuff in the upper arm. Then place the stethoscope and measure the pulse.
There are some common errors that can take place while measuring the blood pressure.
If the cuff is not placed properly in the arm or if the cuff is too small to enricle the arm it is
called as instrumental error and subjective error includes environment and fear of patient
such as anxiety and so on.
