Snow Town Invitational Competition

Hosted by the Figure Skating Club of Watertown this weekend

Watertown, New York ----- The Figure Skating Club of Watertown is hosting its 10 th Annual Snow Town
Invitational Competition for figure skating starting today, Friday, January 21 through Sunday, January 23.
The event begins at 7pm Friday night with skaters from across New York competing. Saturday’s
competition will be 8am to 6:00pm and Sunday, 9am – 12:00pm. The event will be held at the
Watertown Municipal Arena at the Alex Duffy Fairgrounds in Watertown, NY.

This competition is part of the US Figure Skating Excel Series drawing a large field of competitors who
choose to register for the Excel Series. Registered competitors earn points based on their result of an
Excel event at a designated series competition. The overall top finishers of the Excel Series are invited to
the Excel National Finals and Excel Finalist Camp, which will be held in Norwood, Massachusetts, July 14-
17, 2022.

The competition is a popular event due to timing - just prior to the New York Empire State Winter
Games where many of these same skaters will be competing in Lake Placid February 4-6.
