1. Research common communication situations and provide a brief definition for each.
 Conversation - A talk, especially an informal one, between two or more people, in which
news and ideas are exchanged.
 Dialogue - Conversation between two or more people as a feature of a book, play, or
movie.
 Interview - A meeting of people face to face, especially for consultation.
 Small group discussion - Small-Group Discussions provide students the opportunity to
share ideas or opinions without having to address the entire class. Small-group
discussions range in levels of structure. A simple small-group discussion asks students to
divide into small groups and democratically discuss a prompt provided by the instructor.
 Public speaking - Public speaking, also called oration or oratory, is the process of
communicating. Information to a live audience. The type of information communicated
is deliberately structured to inform, persuade. For, and entertain.

2. The term communication apprehension is usually connected with 'stage fright'; however,
this response is not necessarily connected with a delivery on a stage or in front of a large
audience. This anxiety can be caused by any of the four forms of communication:
interpersonal, group, public, and mass communication.
