1. How can art be an aid to better citizenship? Give examples to illustrate this.
- Art could be portrayed in countless manners whether it would be through song,
painting, poem, dance or anything you could possibly think of as long as it conveys a
message or emotion. Art can be used as a patriotic medium to express the love
towards a country and an outcry against oppression. This is illustrated by Jose Rizal
by conveying his art through poems with hidden meanings in his books wherein he
stated his love for the country and native tongue. His writing fueled the revolution
later then.

2. Why is introduction to art appreciation an essential subject in the curriculum?

- Art appreciation develops the creativity of a person by exposing them to different
forms of art. It enables the person to appreciate the beauty of the world around them.
Individuals are also able to convey their thoughts and emotions through a much comfortable
and clear manner when they are having trouble to put it into words.
3. In what ways does art contribute to the physical, social, and spiritual well-being of man?
- Art has many ways and forms and could be beneficiary to a man’s well-being.
Dancing is a physical act which a person moves and perform sequences of steps to the
rhythm of music, it can be considered as a work-out and it develops a person’s sense of
balance and bodily coordination. Art could be also used as a medium to communicate or
convey certain emotion with other people and socialize with them. Art is a way of life which
feeds the spiritual construct of a person and enables a sense of self-worth.
