SELF REFLECTION

This report is a self-reflection on the overall process of completing the group presentation effectively. In the
course of working in a group, certain strengths and challenges were recognized, as detailed below:

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES OF WORKING AS A TEAM

STRENGTHS

KNOWLEDGE CONTRIBUTION: Collaborating with my group, I suppose, provided for greater cooperation and
creativity because each group member had a reasonable amount of ideas to contribute to the presentation,
resulting in enhanced output and the collecting of high-quality data. The group member's knowledge
contribution made it simple to complete the work, enabling for far more extensive study to be completed in a
much shorter time frame. Furthermore, I consider that each group member's knowledge and experience
differed, which served to equalize out how the group leader gave multiple roles based on each group
member's strongest point. This allowed each group member to perform to his or her abilities.

IMPROVED COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Working in groups to accomplish a common goal helped me enhance
not just my communications but also my presenting abilities. Before the final presentation, having the
opportunity to rehearse in front of each other helped me criticize myself, as the other group members offered
suggestions on how I might improve my presenting abilities, and I also had the opportunity to share my
thoughts with them.

DIVISION OF WORK: The idea that the full presentation was allocated among all group members made the
burden seem less imposing because each group member was only responsible for one part of the allocated
assignment. I assume that this resulted in a shared skill set that pushed each group member to complete their
piece of the burden, resulting in a quicker overall process since time is used more efficiently and the quality of
work is also improved.

WEAKNESSES

TIME MANAGEMENT: This acted as a major challenge because it was difficult to organize group meetings both
face to face and online as every team member had different commitments and work schedules. Due to the
abrupt lockdown notice resulted from the outbreak of Covid 19, group members ran far behind internal
deadlines, although we were all able to quickly achieve a balance by prioritizing activities that required
immediate attention and assuring that all group members were kept up to speed on performance despite
differing schedules and work habits. This worked out in the end since we were able to finish the presentation
on time.

CLASH OF IDEAS: In several cases, I feel there was a fair debate among the group members when working on
the presentation. Considering the nature of the content and the concentration on a specific location, group
members had a little debate over the challenges that have arisen as a result of climate change in the
hospitality industry. This is acceptable in any group task since I feel that each group member has their unique
thoughts and working techniques, which other group members must respect. Because the group leader
worked as a negotiator and valued everybody's viewpoint, the problem was simply handled. Another small
difficulty that arose as a result of this was a lag in decision-making since it required some time to have all group
members' consent over a problem.
PERSONAL AREAS OF IMPROVEMENT

Prior preparation, which included being a bit apprehensive during the practice presentation and also while
attempting to express a concept to the group members, was one of my weak areas across the process of
working on this presentation. But, after realizing that my group members were truly open to suggestions and
would gently raise any contradicting views, I was capable of overcoming this by building my self-confidence.

TEAM MEMBER CONTRIBUTIONS

I consider that the presentation's tasks were properly distributed among the group members, then each group
member contributed equally to the project's completion.
