Part A: Performance Review

I have approached Western Power to serve as a project management trainee, in which my

responsibilities included participating in state-developed project management and
development strategies, as well as assisting top managers and researchers. At Western Power,
I was exposed to a wide range of jobs and accountabilities that allowed me to gain experience
in the field while also honing my skills. I assisted in the implementation of project
management plans for the South Metro and Hope Rd projects as part of my experience, and I
compiled risk register for Hope Rd depot. I have focused on a few PSR updates at the
application stage. My responsibilities as a trainee included helping project manager with
room data sheet and performance specifications for South Metro Depot. I also went to a
completed project site in Pinjarra and took notes and compiled all the lessons learned by all
the personal who attended the sessions.

When I think back on my WP performance, I'd say it was reasonable. As a result of my

experience, I've learned there's more I want to understand, as each project is unique and
necessitates critical evaluation. I was determined to focus on the most important objectives
and maintain a high level of success, as demonstrated by my prompt delivery of reports and
receipt of positive reviews. In terms of adopting and learn some new concepts, I was indeed
committed to implementing that I worked incredibly hard and with full presence to recognize
and understand the seniors in the organization. I helped seniors to assemble tender related
documents. As demonstrated by my results evaluation, I also was successful in this position
and act by the trainees' standards.

Throughout the learning experience, I recognized the value of WP's code of ethics,
professionalism, confidentiality, and safety. This was demonstrated by my involvement at
online learning seminars and strict adherence to the laws and regulations. I have developed
the ability to comprehend general project management schedules and terms of reference. My
participant sent me constructive reviews in the phase and after the work period. This
encouragement motivated me to work harder to stay focused on my objectives. It, therefore,
allowed me better understand as I was capable of learning computer expertise of cost,
scheduling, and forecasting, which was something I had hoped to accomplish during this
training. This was feasible because I had a better understanding of Western Power's
investment governance system (WP).
Nevertheless, I have recognized that there is room for growth in several areas where I want to
focus my efforts and upgrade my skills. Having worked at WP was an eye-opening
opportunity that taught me that I needed to improve my existing skills to be more effective
and proficient at work. To encourage alliances and function better in groups, I will need to
learn how to communicate. This has also improved my potential to advance new content and
communicate in project meetings and visiting sites. Identifying the workflow's performance
areas is also essential. I learned to identify flaws and devise methods to address them. And
though I prefer to keep my goals and objectives prepared and scheduled, I must learn to be
flexible to handle new knowledge and experiences. Furthermore, I firmly believe by
recognizing and addressing my current gaps, I would be prepared to flick them into core
strengths. It will support my professional advancement as a successful project manager.

I am confident that I can produce a favorable outcome at WP by meeting the planned

benchmarks. It was a great learning experience that allowed me to acquire practical skills that
will support me as a project manager in the potential. I want to use what I've learned and seen
in the future to reach bigger goals and get better outcomes.

Capabilities A brief example to demonstrate my ability

Learning what is right and wrong is part of ethics (Krishnamurthy, 2011).

In the period of industrial training, I have learned how to comprehend
Ethical use of
ethical issues and implement those in reality. By analyzing the existing
information
codes and their ramifications, I have acquired a significant competence for
the ethical use of knowledge.

Collaboration is comparable to teamwork in that it requires shared

accountability, some dependency, and a clear understanding of roles and
objectives (Reeves et al., 2017). By learning good listening skills and
Collaboration
participating in cooperative decision-making processes, I have strengthen
my collaboration and teamwork skills. I also concentrate on enhanced
teamwork commitment.
Good management will make critical decisions based on a thorough
analysis of the situation (McBride, 2016). By applying myself to a variety
of learning scenarios in which I had to analyze situations and make
Decision
appropriate decisions, I have gained sound decision-making skills. Even
making
though I believe I can objectively analyze situations and make sound
decisions, I am confident that there is always room for me to grow and
learn from my experiences.
When feasible, conflict management involves preparing actions to avoid
conflict and responding quickly and effectively when one arises
Conflict (Madalina, 2016). I was possessing reasoning skills and the capacity to
Management comprehend conflicts; but, now, I have gained a greater understanding of
better resolution approaches through experimental learning and
appropriate insights.
In multiple areas, self-regulation is referred to as self-control, self-
Self- management, or cognitive processes (Zimmerman, 2008). I've discovered
regulation that transparency is critical in self-regulation. I am now able to control my
emotions in different scenarios.

3. Capabilities Development Plan

Capabilities How I will develop my ability

As I have learned how to use fundamental computer skills, I will

Use of
continue to do by learning new skills about updated management
technology
applications and resources (Didinsky, 2017).

Verbal communication acts as the primary tool in any organization (Fer,

Verbal 2018). I want to improve my communication skills by highlighting the
Communication significance of management acronyms and how to apply them. I'll still
work on expanding my vocabulary and watching good communicators.

Accountability is critical in making businesses more successful and, as a

result, improving performance (Han and Hong, 2016). Currently, I
Accountability
recognize that by working in teams, I can improve my accountability in
workplace.

By making critical analysis, I want to strengthen my critical and

Judgement judgement skills. I would also concentrate on enhanced thinking
(Becker, 2019).

Empathy is the capacity to emotionally comprehend how other people

are going through, to see everything through their eyes, and to put
oneself in their shoes (Jenkins, 2019). In a professional environment,
Empathy
empathy is essential in workplace for managing relationships. I want to
gain a greater understanding of empathy experimental learning and
appropriate insights.
Part C: Professional conduct and Ethical Behaviour review Reflection

Description:

Changes in the world of labor organizations in recent years have altered union leaders'
perceptions of strikes and their association with them (Hennebert, 2017). WP was recently
the subject of a two-day strike called from CEPU. WP was unable to persuade the CEPU to
abandon its proposed intervention, which could result in power supply disruptions for
consumers. The Fair Work Act is being used to direct Western Power's reaction to industrial
action. In this section, I'll interpret and analyze this event using the DIEP reflective system of
reflective research, as well as provide a critical reflection on it.

Interpretation:

Strikes affected the organizations' normal operations, forcing them to establish urgent
guidelines for managing the workers for existing projects (Giraud, 2009). As a result,
businesses must adopt practices that are equitable and appeal to all workers fairly and without
discrimination. As a result, in the situation at hand, WP's policies had classified the staff
uniquely based on fairness and established a policy that's more conservative than liberal
diverse.

On ____date___, I started working at WP as a trainee. The CEPU constraints affect the

company’s operations because some work is scheduled out of shifts to minimize delays to
consumers to handle and adhere to the specifications. The fairness policy, on the other hand,
was not distinctive; it was extended to all employees at the company, prohibiting any labor
action.

Evaluation:

Strike evaluation should place a greater emphasis on the laws and structures that govern labor
relations and determine the amount of flexibility provided to participants. A strike must also
be considered in the context of the options available to union leaders, as well as the rules
regulating the right to strike and union representation in each labor relations framework
(Glyn, 2010). As a result, WP's approach could be changed if it were extended uniformly to
all of the company's workers without any biases or secondary factors. Employees would feel
included and not biased against in the workplace as a result of this.

I had the opportunity to serve at WP. This encouraged the incorporation of a variety of
viewpoints and aided in the problem-solving process. A professional workplace meant that
we could work without hindrances or fear of being judged, which helped me improve my
success and encourage progress. As a result, no event occurred in which I think either
participant was handled unfairly, resulting in a safe work atmosphere.

Plan:

Policy formulation by evaluation of circumstances would be one of my primary duties as a

project manager in the future. As a result, I want to learn about the ethical codes of conduct
based on the Fairness Act in the workplace to ensure better project management. In action, a
code of ethics guarantees that an improvement plan is created that is centered on assessment
procedures, allowing for more reliable decisions to be taken (Peters, 2010). I believe that as a
person, I would work to better understand the corporate, global, and international codes of
conduct to ensure that integrated policies and procedures are in place to avoid incidents like
these. I would expand my skills by reading online materials and participating in active
learning. I'll also prepare the policies by learning about the company's policies and soliciting
input from staff. This will assist me with developing strategies that are beneficial to both the
company and the workers. This will also aid in the implementation of responsive and
professional practices for the company that is in line with the existing codes and conducts,
preventing incidents of bias (Didinsky, 2017). I want to progress as a professional project
manager with valuable insight into laws, ethical standards, and policy formulation
capabilities by implementing this approach.
