Exploring modern management principles has been an insightful journey, revealing key
insights that shape how organizations work today. Starting with the basics of effective
management, I have ventured into the world of strategic planning, where managers play the role
of architects using essential tools. Decision-making, learning, creativity, and entrepreneurship
emerged as crucial elements driving organizations towards innovation. A closer look at
organizational structure and culture showed their crucial functions in effective management.
Leadership styles, motivation theories, and performance optimization strategies intertwined,
defining the varied responsibilities of managerial roles. Balancing stability and change, I have
explored into control mechanisms and change management, recognizing their central roles in
how organizations operate.

In the ongoing story of effective communication, I have found its profound significance
as the lifeblood of organizations. Effective communication became more than just a tool; it
became a cultural essence, promoting collaboration, fostering positive work environments, and
harmonizing diverse elements within an organization. As my exploration reached its peak, the
focus shifted to value chain management, highlighting the importance of collaboration and

I have acquired a wealth of knowledge and profound insights into management. The
renowned quote by Benjamin Franklin, "If you fail to plan, you plain to fail," underscores the
critical importance of a well-crafted plan for success. Planning stands out as one of my key
takeaways, serving as a foundational pillar for organizational success. I firmly believe that
accomplishing goals early is facilitated by effective planning—a proactive process that charts the
course of action for the future, mitigating uncertainties. It involves making an earnest effort to
anticipate the future, ultimately enhancing performance. The growth and prosperity of an
organization hinge on the quality of its planning.

5.0 What are the benefits that you acquired from this subject?
This subject has provided me with a valuable perspective on control, revealing its
ultimate significance and transforming my mindset. While many believe that damage is
irreversible, the concept of control stands out as a game-changer. The essence lies in the fact that
no matter how good something is, it can all be lost without proper control. Initially, I thought
control could only be exerted before an event occurs. However, a deep dive into the control
chapter unveiled the idea of ‘Feedback Control’, a crucial component of the process. This
mechanism addresses problems after they happen, representing a proactive and reflective
approach to control. Interestingly, it aligns with Islamic thought on "muhasabah", emphasizing
the importance of self-improvement. This newfound understanding highlights the practical
benefits of the management subject, equipping me with insights that extend beyond theory to
shape my approach to challenges and decision-making.

6. 0 What do you like best about this subject?

What I find most interesting about this subject is its in-depth exploration of management.
Prof. Madya Dr. Badzli's teaching method, where he shares his practical work experiences, not
only helps me understand better but also widens my perspective. His real-life stories make the
theoretical aspects of the course more practical. Among the chapters, I am particularly fascinated
by the one on decision-making, which deals with uncertainties in significant life choices. The
concept of strategic planning, especially the SWOT analysis, resonates with me. This method is
crucial for identifying internal and external factors that can be opportunities or risks. From my
point of view, it offers a structured way of making decisions, promoting rational, logical, and
practical choices.

7. 0 Any suggestion for improvement for this subject?
In my humble opinion, there will always be a room for improvement. I propose that our
lecturers enhance comprehension of this subject by implementing brief quizzes for students after
each class session. Utilizing platforms like “Kahoot” and “Quizziz” can enable the lecturer to
assess students' understanding in real-time, allowing them to concentrate more on chapters that
prove challenging for the majority of the students. Furthermore, our lecturers can assign an
engaging task to students, such as forming groups to present the syllabus or subject chapters in a
more enjoyable manner. This approach not only aids the groups in comprehending their assigned
topics but also allows their peers to respond to the presentation in a relatable manner. As a
“working student”, I am confident that everyone has interesting work-life stories to share that
relate to management topics.
