Introduction

Principle and Practices of Management (MGT 420) is the subject that teach us about
planning, organizing and also how to control an organization. The topic of this class will
teach us the fundamentals of managing a business or organization, including personnel
management, leadership in managing a business, and managing human behaviour in an
organization. All of the subjects we have studied as students will be helpful if we work for a
corporation in the future.

1) What you have learned?

What I learnt in MGT420 let me understand how people act in companies, the nature of
power, influence, and leadership. This is a tool that will assist me succeed and learn
information about management concepts, as well as guidance on how to manage an
organization that faces a variety of challenges from within and outside the business. I was
able to completely understand by studying management that management principles assist
managers in making decisions about how to complete tasks and handle situations that might
come up at work. Managers must be knowledgeable, talented, and capable of leading their
organizations based on these principles.

2) What are the take away?

MGT420 also showed the value of management principles by assisting me determine

whether or not steps are suitable and has taught me what to expect from managers in different
situations. This is also an example for determining which research should be done to improve
management's decision making and action. Thus, I was able to fully understand this lesson
and know that our main objective would be fulfilled if we follow out the four main
management tasks of organizing, leading, regulating, and planning.

3) What are the skills acquired from this subject?

The major thing I took away from the MGT420 was management skills. These skills can
help me with nearly everything allowing me to guide others successfully, including technical,
human, and conceptual skills. Conceptual skills, such as abstract thought and idea
formulation, support the creation of concepts, the assessment of problems, and the generation
of new solutions. The capacity to properly and efficiently connect with coworkers and
subordinates is the second skill that managers must possess. It also helps professional
management in ensuring human potential for organizational profit and boosting
organizational productivity.

4) Will you using this skill in future?

Last but not least, technical skills that let experts fully understand the variety of methods
and techniques available for accomplishing organizational objectives. These skills include
using a computer or software, as well as being able to increase sales, manage tasks, create a
variety of products and services, and carrying out marketing campaigns to promote them.

5) What are the benefits that you acquired from this subject?

As a result, these skills help me in better understanding that effective management

characteristics require the application of all three of these skills more efficiently and
effectively, for example, by empowering lower-level employees and moving to self-managed
teams as a result of the factors causing movement in global competition. Based on these
skills, the organization will change.

6) What do you like best about this subject?

As a result, I learned the value of communication in an organization from the course.

Communication is important since the discussion between us will be more productive if we
know what we need and what should be done from here so that we can have clear
communication with everyone who is involved in this project. Second, skills in critical
thinking are something that project managers should not only depends on. Critical thinking
abilities are something that every member of an organization needs to know and practice.
Many of us do not think, yet responding to and obeying all we are told or learn is very helpful
to us. It has the same objective as us in analysing and evaluating a problem or situation in this
project, so that it will guide our decision to be the best decision.

7) Any suggestion for improvement for this subject?

All of the skills I gained during this course will be useful to me in the future because
conflicts and issues can be settled quickly and carefully, especially if it comes to daily goal
tasks. By checking the system in use, the timeline planning that is available, and the schedule
I made, things went smoothly and created results, whether positive or negative. If the results
are negative, I must reassess what needs to be changed in my daily routine in order to
improve my performance, and I will make the necessary adjustments.

Conclusion

All in all, the most exciting part of MGT420 for me was being able to organize and
apply the information and comprehension I gained during the course. The importance of
management knowledge in day-to-day life and at work was another thing MGT420 made me
understand.
