PRINCIPLES AND PRACTICE OF MANAGEMENT (MGT)

The principles and practice of management course is my first exposure to know more
about the management system in an organization. I have learned about the specific meaning
of the management are planning, organizing, leading and controlling of human and other
resources to achieve organizational goals efficiently and effectively. Also, to understand how
people behave in organisations, influence and leadership and that subject can improve my
knowledge about how to manage the organisation and maybe can transfer the skills for my
future business.
In this subject I have learned about the three level of the managers are first-line
managers, middle managers and top-managers. The Managers as an important person to
control the organisations and decide what should be done to accomplish all the task and to
handle the situations which may arise in the management. Also, now I have learned more
about the functions of the managers perform, the roles that’s manager play and the skills
that managers use are universal. Also, I can understand how people behave in organization,
and the nature of power, influence and leadership. Whether I aim to be self-employed, an
entrepreneur, head my own company, or to work for private business, not-for-profit
organizations or government agencies, the management as important tools to be success.
Now, I learn more about the organisation for example organization behaviour, organization
theory, Communication, Employment Relations to achieve the goals. Therefore, learned
about management can help me to make good decisions in nonwork contexts for example
before starting the new business I need to plan my financial budget and need to more
understand how to make a good quality decisions and improve my personal success.
Learning this subject, the take away I learn is skill. The part of skill is a build the
building good working relationships with people at all levels. That’s means if i have my own
business i need use this important skill to create the high quality connections between me
and all workers. Also, management skill can help me nearly in anything that enables me to
manage others effectively such as conceptual skills, human skills, and technical skills where
conceptual skills abstract thinking and idea formulation to help visualizing a concept, analyze
the challenges and develop creative solutions. The human skills where it allow managers to
interact effectively and work efficiently with their colleagues and subordinates and the
technical skills that enable professionals to develop broad knowledge over a
variety of tools also techniques which can be used to achieve business objectives. From
this subject, i have learn more about the meaning and function of skill and know that this is a
most important thing to build the own business. The management skill was divided by three

namely technical skills, conceptual skill and interpersonal skills. There is a wide range of
skills that management I should possess to run an organization effectively and efficiently.
Management skills are a collection of abilities that include things such as business planning,
decision-making, problem-solving, communication, delegation, and time management.
I will use this skill for my future business because it is can help to achieving my goal
and group goal. It can help my business organization to arrange the production, assembles
and organizes the resources and integrates the resources in effective manner to achieve
goals. The benefit that I have acquired from this subject is I will build a skill set to respond to
challenges and current developments in business and society, giving me the ability to make
informed managerial decisions that consider ethical, economic and social implications. Also,
it can help me to improved my communication skills to achieved goal. So, the best thing I
was learn from this subject is that all thing about the management can be found from social
media for example you tube instead of focusing with the e book only and it make it easier for
me to understand the true meaning of the management.
Finally, my suggestion for improvement for this subject is to improve the way of
imparting knowledge to students so that students better understand and pay attention to the
field of management for example introducing companies in Malaysia that have successfully
achieved targets in the field of management.
