INTRODUCTION:
To begin with, the folk song "Ang Bayan Ko"
was originally written in Spanish before
being translated into Filipino in the form of a
poem. This poem rose to prominence during
Ferdinand Marcos' presidency, but our
President Marcos later prohibited the song
"Ang Bayan Ko" from being broadcast during
martial law.Following that, during the Post-
EDSA 1 Revolution, a song writer/singer
performed this song at the wake up of the
former Aquino family.
After all of the events that occurred,
Freddie did not deter from recording
a new one on his own, so this song
still exists today and gives fellow
Filipinos goosebumps. This song
expresses "people's longing for
freedom to take it away from any
oppressor," and it is intended for
protests. After all is said and done,
this song comprises a story from the
previous years as well as a variety of
emotions.
