1. What were the reasons that made Noor Jahan play a prominent role in the
Mughal Administration? Noor Jahan was the wife of Jahangir. She brought
many of her family into the royal household and also could play a huge
political role in the Mughal Empire. She could choose who would become
the next king after Jahangir died, as she tried to make Shahryar the next
emperor after Jahangir died.
2. Compare the rule of Jahangir and Shah Jahan regarding their conquests,
administration and architecture. Jahangir and Shah Jahan were both great
rulers that brought happiness and prosperity. Jahangir loved nature while
Shah Jahan loved to build exquisite structures. Shah Jahan conquered the
Deccan plateau and left it to the tule of his third son, Aurangzeb. Jahangir
kept the empire stable and tried to conquer the last bits and pieces that
were questioning the rule of the Mughals.
