Task 1
The chart describes how the change of sales for Games Software, DVDs, and CDs in billions of dollars,
from 2000 to 2003. It can see from the chart that the CDs Sales decreased slightly ever year, while the
sales of Games Software and DVD increased for each year.

At 2000, CDs Sales are extremely high in more than 30 billons dollars, compared to Games Software and
DVD which are below 20 billion dollars. In the next year, even though CDs sales decreased, the revenue
obtained was still above 30 billion dollars. The games software sales increased a little bit in that year,
while the DVDs sales surpassed 20 billion dollars.

In the next two years, the same pattern experienced by CDs sales, even though it had never been lower
than 30 billion dollars. The games software sales were also increasing slowly in those two years as it
almost reached 20 billion dollars income at 2003. In the opposite, the increasing of DVDs sales was
significantly high, which it could reach 30 billion dollars at 2003, almost as high as the CDs sales.
Task 2

Nowadays, energy consumption is vital to our daily lives. As the global population grows, energy
demand is also rising. The main sources of energy are fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas, and petroleum,
and renewable energy such as hydropower, solar energy, wind turbines, geothermal, and nuclear energy.

If the country’s investment in alternatives exceeds that of fossil energy. I disagree with this
statement. Countries all over the world now rely on fossils. When we want to use other energy sources.
We cannot imagine what will happen. And we cannot guarantee that the use of renewable energy is better
than the use of fossil energy. Due to insufficient supply, large space is required, high cost, and unstable.
Today I will give some reasons why we cannot replace fossil fuels with alternative energy sources.

First of all, If the country develops alternative energy sources. That may cause many people
involved in the oil industry to face unemployment and it may not be a good choice for a developing
country. Because every big country relies on oil to develop a country like the United States. China and
Dubai. So, you want to develop alternative energy. Make sure that your country is comparable to those
big countries. Otherwise, your country will lag behind neighboring countries

Second is Economic benefits: If you take a look at the economies of gas and oil generating
countries, you will see a usual trend; economic prosperity. Government subsidies to oil firms’ level in
billions of dollars, and the contribution to the growth of a country are more than convincing.

Inconclusion, I agree that fossil fuel cause air pollution. But demand of energy requires a lot, so
only alternative energy cannot supply enough. Example: The area of productive land required to provide
for one Australian is over 7 hectares per person. The US figure is closer to 12 hectares. However, the
amount of productive land per person on the planet is about 1.3 hectares and by the time we reach 9
billion it will be close to 0.8 hectares. In other words, Australians have a footprint about 10 times greater
than all could share. So, it not enough for using only alternative energy. So the alternative energy is not
the best choice that government to promote.
