This series tells about trauma in the past and mental illness. It told a children’s book author
‘psycho’ , played by the main character, Ko Moon Young met with a nurse, Moon Gang Tae in the
asylum. Moon Young is not a psycho, she only grows into a person who has a personality disorder. It
happens because when she was a child she was locked up by her parents. Her parents locked up Moon
Young in their big house that was far from the crowd. Ko Moon Young has been locked up because
her parents felt that their daughter is bringing a stroke of bad luck to others. Moreover, when she was
a child nobody wanted to be her friend because all of them saw there was a black shadow in her back
and always followed her. Her trauma increased when her mother died and her father lost his mind.
Her father tried to kill Moon Young by strangling his neck. Fortunately, she can stop her father and
choose to send him to the asylum. Her father has been diagnosed with schizophrenia.
It is different from Moon Gang Tae, a nurse who works in the asylum. He has a big brother
who is diagnosed with mental retardation, Moon Sang Tae. Both of them are orphans so that Gang
Tae has to give more extra to take care of his brother. In this series, it is told that Gang Tae receives
less attention and affection from his mother because his mother gave more attention and affection to
his brother, Sang Tae. It caused Gang Tae to grow into a person who can’t express his feelings or tries
to hide it from others. He is also still shadowed by his life in the past -- about how his mother doesn’t
give fair attention and affection between him and Sang Tae. Gang Tae’s past concludes that he has to
give more extra to take care of his brother, give more attention and affection, no matter how tired he
is. Sometimes he doesn’t pay attention to his needs and only fulfills his brother's needs.
This series not only focuses on their problem but also shows how they try to heal from their
past and become a better person in the future and accept their past. On the other hand, this series also
gives a message to parents out there. It reminds parents that even the smallest action taken on a child
can pose a risk of trauma. It also makes inner wounds that influence a child’s mental health in the
future. Not only that, but the series also hopes that audience will want to befriend with disable people
rather than trying to help and wants people who watch this series can also heal their wounds following
them.
