HE. aor Bee ak 7 ‘THE LUTHERAN WORLD FEDERATION/WORLD SERVI & \ SOUTH SUDAN COUNTRY PROGRAM \e VX CO ys a fo, ¢ Terms of Reference for Training Consultancy on Network Management System for three Instant Network Schools (INS) Coaches, one Supervisor, two DAFI connected computer students and one ‘exams assistant in Jam Jang County, Ruweng Administrative Area (RAA), South Sudan Requesting Section: Program: Education Location: LWE Jam Jang Field Date for the assignment: 11-17, December 2021 Project/Donor: UNHCR Background: Lutheran World Federation/World Service (LWF/WS) is an International NGO whose mission is “Inspired by God's love for humanity, World Service is dedicated to challenging and addressing the causes and effects of human suffering and poverty, linking local responses to national and international advocacy.” To realize this mission, LWF World Service South Sudan Program Is dedicated to addressing the causes and effects of the suffering and poverty of people in South Sudan, linking local responses to national and international initiatives”, LW/WS operations in Jam Jang County (Ruweng Administrative Area) cover Education, Child and Youth Protection for refugees and host communities with funding support from BPRM, Church of Sweden and UNHCR, LWE/WS is currently running Instant Network Schools (INS) in Napata Primary School and Soba Secondary Schoo! to support effective teaching and learning in Ajuong Thok refugee camp. The internet connection at the two (INS) centers supports teachers to navigate both online and offline content for lesson preparation and for learners to access learning materials and the DAFl scholarship connected students to accomplish online mode of learning, The learners and teachers use tablets to navigate online and offline learning materials. Therefore, the internet has to be stable and that requires advanced network management for maximum benefit for all users according to the intensity of their respective activities and syllabus/books installed on the tablets are for Kenya school system. The skills to install additional learning materials are highly needed by the INS coaches and their supervisor, These skills enable asy upload of South Sudan syllabus/books and other important learning materials on the offline version in the tablets. LWF/WS is seeking for the services of an experienced consultant to provide: Purpose of the Assignment: 2) A five-days intensive training on internet networking, troubleshooting, bandwidth management and uploading of teaching and learning materials on tablets to be used as offline content. ). Upload South Sudan new syllabus/books and revision past papers on 100 tablets. The deliverables and scope of work Under the supervision of the Education Coordinator, working closely with the Team Leader and the Education Manager, and generally answerable to the deputy Program Coordinator. The assignment focuses on 1. Develop 5 days’ hands on training content covering key concepts on networking, internet troubleshooting, bandwidth management and uploading of teaching and learning materials to be used offline before the onset of the training 2. Provide 5 days intensive practical training to 6 participants on networking, internet troubleshooting, management of bandwidth and uploading of South Sudan New Syllabus on 100 tablets during the training period 3. A technical and financial proposal, with a clear action plan and timelines for conducting the assignment. This is part of the application package 4. Asummarized training content that can be used by the INS coaches and supervisor as handouts after the training, 5. A detailed training report accompanied with signed/login daily attendance of participants, content covered, methodology used, and pre-planned and post- training assessment records. 6. Analyze possible internet connection issues related to poor network and fix instantly during the training period. Work Schedule: ‘The assignment will be for a duration of five days from the start date of the consultancy contract. Product format and ownership: All products related to the assignment should be in electronic and hard copy submission. Ownership of the product aspects specific to the assignment will remain with LWE. The LWE Deputy Programme Coordinator based in Juba is generally responsible for the delivery on this consultancy. Team Leader at the field level will provide guidance and direct supervision for this consultancy. Consultant’s Work Place: ‘The consultant will be based in LWF/WS Compound in Jam Jang and must bring his/her/their own laptop Computer. The Consultant's travel days will not be part of the actual five paid days ofthis consultancy. Qualifications or Specialized Knowledge/Experience Required: Qualifications * University degree preferably in Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or related field, Experience & Competencies * Skills and knowledge of Instant Network schools (INS) and usage of Rachel offline Saver, * Robust knowledge of Windows Network Diagnostic Command using Command Line interface (CMD) * Proficiency in conducting technical ICT training © Atleast 2 years of experience in TCP/IP © Proven experience as IT Consultant Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software and network problems Knowledge of LAN configuration, devices and structured cabling Experience with Microsoft windows operating system and other system applications Experience MS suites Professional certification (e.g. CCNA/CCNP, MCSA, CompTIA Ad) is an asset Excellent written and verbal communication in English. Good interpersonal skills ‘An analytical mind with creative problem-solving abilities Good time management and organizational skills Languages Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Basic knowledge of Arabic will be an added advantage. Interested Candidates or consultancy firm must submit the following 1.
