I AM LIFE

By : Zakira Putri Setyadi

I’ve heard hundreds of opinion about the definition of life so far. Most of them
claiming that life is all physical objects that have a biological processes, move, etc. From
Alexander Paulus to Mitch Axelrod I know that life is a journey. But, if life is just a journey
from life to death, is such ‘meaning’ enough to make the ‘traveler’ feel that it is worth it at
the end of the journey?

I started questioning life-based assumptions When I was 8, I started to become aware

of events where someone is born, and someone dies. When I was 15, I began to realize the
difference 'feel' as a child and as a teenager. From here, I decided to find out what life is.
We often talk about life as if it exists outside of us. Whereas as a youth aged 19, I believe
that we are life itself. Yet we are often shrouded in such a cloud of thoughts, emotions,
ideas, ideologies, philosophies, religions and prejudices where this psychological drama
has obscured the true meaning of life. If we don't engage with the food we eat, will we
really know what this food looks like? For most people, it's only the first mouthful that
they get involved. After that, they just ate it, without even tasting anything. So it is only in
the early phase of childhood that most people experience life. After that, for everything
they have explanations and conclusions. In fact, the more we conclude, the less we can
experience. We know everything, but we experience nothing. Meaning is only meaningful
to the psychological structure of who we are. Our minds want meaning. Yet the nature of
this life is that if we stay here for a million years, it will still excite us, and we can still
engage. The closer and closer we look at it, the more confusing it will be.

The life within us doesn’t seek meaning it takes the excitement of our first experience
making it, then all these questions will evaporate. The scientific definition of life, of course
is an external definition. But I confidently say that knowing what life is doesn't define it.
We must know all things about life from within life itself. Based on my life experience so
far, for me life is a series of various miracles that vibrate continuously without stopping.
Every aspect of my life is nothing but a miracle. For me, by understanding myself I find
the true meaning of life and it turns out that I am a part of life and I am life itself. I would
not exist without life, and life would not exist without me. I am a recycling of Adolf Hitler,
Deepak Chopra, Mother Teresa, Cleopatra, Alan Watts, you, and all of creation. Therefore,
life, the universe, the divine, equal me and vice versa. I am everything and nothing at the
same time. I believe that everything we see has its roots in the unseen world, the forms
may change yet the essence remains the same. Every wonderful sight will vanish, every
sweet word will fade but we don’t have to be disheartened, the source they come from is
eternal, growing, branching out, giving new life and new joy. Why we have to weep? The
source is within us and this whole cosmos is springing up from it. Therefore, life is a
journey into ourselves. And now, is time for us to show our responsibility to all life
including our own.

Life is a massive energy that is the source of everything. It's no beginning, no end,
birthless, deathless, formless, nothingness, existence, good, evil, yin, yang, and so on. Life
is energy that continues to vibrate and flow without stopping. Life is dear to all being, they
have the right to live the same as we do. To write life we must first live it. Life is not a
problem to be solved but a reality to be experienced. Life imposes things on us that we
have no control over but we still have a choice how we will live it. And the only way to
know and understand about life is to walk within each one of us.
