Nutrition Action Zimbabwe in partnership with Small Holder Irrigation Revitalization Programme
(SIRP) is seeking to recruit 35 Enumerators to support a baseline survey to establish baseline values
of key indicators, for the IFAD/NORAD financed implementation supported top-up grant in
Manicaland, Masvingo, Mat South and Midlands.

Project Description
IFAD, with funding from NORAD, is providing technical assistance for inclusive and sustainable nutrition-sensitive
agriculture that strengthens environmental sustainability and climate resilience of poor rural people's economic
activities, with a specific focus on women and youth. Implementing a project aimed at preventing and eliminating
violence against women and girls with disabilities in Zimbabwe. The overall objective of the Programme is to improve
intake of diverse and nutritious foods by rural households to reduce malnutrition in all its forms. The NORAD project
tops-up SIRP. Its main objective is to increase the intake of diverse and nutritious foods by rural households.

The primary objective of the baseline survey is to establish the baseline values of key indicators, for the IFAD/NORAD
financed implementation supported top-up grant. The specific objective of the baseline survey is to produce quality
data to serve as reference values of all results indicators as defined in each results framework to enable tracking of
implementation. The survey will also measure knowledge levels, attitudes, beliefs and behavioural patterns of
beneficiaries on nutrition and agricultural aspects.

Job summary :
To support the baseline for the Nourishing People and the Earth through Inclusive and Sustainable Agriculture
“project that will be implemented in Masvingo, Matebeleland South, Midlands and Manicaland provinces. The
baseline survey will be done Chimanimani (Manicaland), Matobo (Matebeleland South), Zaka (Masvingo), Gokwe
South, Zvishavane, Mberengwa (Midlands). The position requires the ability to work closely with a multi-disciplinary
team and to interact effectively with a wide variety of community members.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Data collection for selected households and other respondents in the targeted area
• Identifying participants for interviews
• Daily cleaning and uploading the data the tablets.
• Conduct face-to –face interviews through obtaining a consent to participate.
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of the answers recorded and perform accuracy checks on the
questionnaires whenever applicable.
• Taking note on any values for categorical variables that are not already defined in the questionnaire.
• He/She will be responsible for organizing and maintaining the data and survey equipment in a safe and
secure manner until it can be delivered to the Survey Coordinator.
• Safeguard the confidentiality and privacy of the collected information.

Qualifications, skills and Experience:

• Certificate, diploma/degree in Nutrition, Agriculture, Development studies or related field


• Experience in using mobile based application for data collection such as KOBO, ODK
• Project and team management skills (planning, anticipation, organization, supervision, monitoring,
evaluation) an added advantage
• Good communication skills with the community, Energetic, Flexible, Reliable, Passionate and a Team Player
• IT skills and experience in data collection is a requisite
• Experience in statistical packages (STATA, SPSS, Epi Infor) is an added advantage

Preference will be given to candidates from the identified respective districts.
