What makes Rockstar’s games so special?

Rockstar games is an American video game publisher based in New York city and
has net worth over 3.5 billion dollars. Like me for many others it is a part of life
and popular pop culture that has successfully created a big name for themselves.
Such as the GTA series, Max Payne and Red Dead Redemption all their popular
games were published by Rockstar which are still playable till this day. While
games have used open-world designs since the 1980s, the implementation in
Grand Theft Auto III (2001) set a standard that has been used since.
One of their most popular game series The Grand Theft Auto is still one of the
best games of all time.
their level of detail regarding the open world their craft is unmatched (example
Liberty City from GTA 4 or Los Santos/Blaine County from GTA V).
The GTA first game was launched back in 1997. Before that games like Tomb
Rider, Sonic, Final Fantasy and many more which all had the idea of
eliminating bad people as the main playable character was godly one. But
for the first time ever Rockstar introduced a gaming theme where the
protagonist is a bad person doing crimes and the police itself is considered
enemies. It was that moment Rockstar caught everyone’s attention.
Because we have a common psychology of giving more interest in doing
bad things. So, initially the game was a success.
After that many these series were published. Grand Theft Auto V and EA's Tetris
mobile game are the only other known video games to have sold over 100
million copies. So, in terms of doing business they are a success. There a
many small details, one of the them I would like to discuss is the in game
radio stations.  Each radio station in the GTA game, like real life,
plays a certain genre of music. Each radio station has a distinct
personality and features a diverse range of songs as well as the vocal
artist in these radio shows are almost real which is clearly not seen in
any other games. Along with the gameplay their Story line is impressive
as the games can relate to story and can get involved emotionally.
They are so memorable because the protagonists are quite relatable; Niko
Bellic is new to a country he doesn't understand the country culture,
Carl Johnson is returning after 5 years to attend his mom's funeral,
Max Payne is the most tragic of them all, trying to move on from his
family’s murders.
