The Epitome of Sacrifice

It is a very eye-opening video where verbal communication is unnecessary. Watching it is

already enough to interpret and understand the message it wants to convey, which is a father’s

love and sacrifice. Nonverbals are shaped by the thoughts, feelings, and emotions of a person. It

is a powerful tool to interpret messages from other people by simply looking at how they listen,

react, and more.

Have you observed or noticed any nonverbals on the video? Did you know that interpreting

nonverbals effectively gives you an advantage over anyone?

If yes, then we are the same, and here are some of mine:

Peace is in your arms. The coat represents a father who is willing to do everything to

protect his family, even if it cost his own life. The coat portrays the strongest and emotionally

practical person in the family. Fathers may not be fit in sharing their hearts out; it is because they

bequeath their tears, sweat, and pain outside the home door solely to see the smile on the faces of

their family. As shown in the video, the coat is very close to losing its hold. Still, he will do what

it takes to never lose the grip because he has a family to protect, and he will willingly sacrifice

his own comfort for his family.

“Obstacles do not block the path; they are the path.” - Henry Ford.

The unavoidable circumstance. Life is like a natural disaster; there are inevitable

circumstances that you need to face. In the video, the typhoon represents the trials that the family

is facing. It illustrates how the coat or father is holding on even though they are in the most
challenging point of life. It taught me that it is not how deep you’ve been buried in the situation;

it is how far you’ve risen and how you overcame it.

A pin will bind us together. As shown in the video, the clothespin is the nonverbal

representation of how powerful a father’s love is. The video showed that one side of the coat had

detached from the clothespin, but the father came up with a great idea to keep his grip. It means

that we may be at the point of life where we almost give up; we need to keep in mind that there

are still people who believe in us. There is nothing easy in life, but that’s no reason to give up

because giving up is only for losers. One day, you will be surprised at what you’ve already

accomplished.

Better together, together forever. Lastly, the two birds are like a couple who show how

teamwork became the bridge to success. They show that they work together toward a vision of

keeping them both in balance, and they have each other on their sides. Having teamwork makes

the impossible possible, and it is the secret to achieve what you are longing for.

Our father is an excellent example of nonverbal communication because most of them are

not vocal about how they feel, but they will make you feel it through some gestures and acts.

When the rain starts to pour, they will serve as our umbrella to protect us when the harsh and

challenging times come.
