In order to fulfil the overall objectives of education and lifelong skills upgrading, the Institution
has prioritized a number of specific goals and initiatives within the overall education and
continuing training.
Objectives:

 A coherent self-learning system to provide the opportunity for everyone to acquire


additional skills, explore new domains and a solid foundation for lifelong learning. There

Government of India and designed to achieve the

effort is to take the best teaching learning
resources to all, including the most disadvantaged.
Students are taking advantage of Swayam portal
regularly. Students do take the advantage of
NPTEL courses beyond class room lectures for
enhancing knowledge and strengthening their
understanding.
17 The SWAYAM PRABHA is a group of 34 DTH
SWAYAM PRABHA channels devoted to telecasting of high-quality
educational programmes on 24X7 basis using the
https://www.swayamprabha.gov.in/ GSAT-15 satellite. Every day, there will be new
content for at least (4) hours which would be
repeated 5 more times in a day, allowing the
students to choose the time of their convenience.
The channels are uplinked from BISAG-N,
Gandhinagar. The contents are provided by
NPTEL, IITs, UGC, CEC, IGNOU. The
INFLIBNET Centre maintains the web portal.
18 VTU E-LEARNING The VTU e-Learning Centre was established in
August 2003 in Mysuru with the main aim of

the students and faculty of VTU through
satellite and web. Currently, VTU e-Learning
Centre has migrated from satellite based
EDUSAT prgramme to web based eShikshana
programme.

3. Enrollment of Coursera, MIT and edx online courses for bright student’s certification.
4. Awareness workshop on usage of Virtual Labs for students and faculty members.
5. Last semester, enrollment of NPTEL online courses is reduced - Reason.
