Playing (AND WINNING) Roulette With Cryptos

By Randy Paxton

Very few games are more representative of a good casino than roulette, and the mere sight
of the table, with its reds and blacks and the lucky spins, immediately takes us to every
cowboy movie we’ve seen, for this game is over two hundred years old—many historians
trace its source all the way back to famous mathematician Blaise Pascal, in the 17th century.
To be that old and still remain popular is a testament of the rush (and the rewards!) that a
good game of roulette can bring.

But let’s talk about business here: how do we win? With so many people trying their luck,
what’s the one strategy that’s going to elevate us and tip the scale in our favor?

Well, partner, to give you a hand we first have to start with the very basics. Don’t worry,
this is not going to be a classroom, and I promise you it won’t be boring; one of the good
things of roulette is that it’s very easy to learn, and this is going to help you out whether
you’re playing physically at a casino, or in a digital table like the ones we offer you at
CryptoBet.

That’s great, but what am I looking at here, Randy?

Everyone knows the famous roulette wheel. What you may not know is that there are 36
numbers on it and a 0 (along with a “00” for American tables); as a player, you will bet on
the different options that the table offers, and the croupier will send a small white ball
spinning on the wheel to determine the winner.

The options are:

 The first 12 numbers (1 to 12, zeroes are excluded);

 The second group of 12 numbers (13 to 24);
 The third group of 12 numbers (15 to 36);
 Numbers 1 to 18;
 Numbers 19 to 36;
 Even numbers;
 Odd numbers;
 Red color, and;
 Black color.

So, as you can see, there are many ways for you to win—but this is the catch: not all
options pay equally, and some bets will yield you bigger rewards.

How do I bet in roulette?

What you’re aiming for is to win on an “inside” bet, meaning the bets done on specific
numbers. The “reward sheet” you want to keep at hand is this:

 Winning on a specific number (a “straight up” win) pays 35 to 1;

 Winning a split bet on two numbers pays 17 to 1;
 Winning a bet on three consecutive numbers (“street” betting) pays 11 to 1;
 Winning a bet on three numbers where two are consecutive and the other is a zero
also pays 11 to 1;
 Winning a bet on four numbers pays 8 to 1;
 Winning a bet on the first four numbers (0, 1, 2, 3) also pays 8 to 1;
 Winning a bet on six consecutive numbers pays 5 to 1;
 Winning a bet on 12 numbers pays 2 to 1, and;
 Winning a bet on 18 numbers pays 1 to 1.
 On American tables, there’s the five-number-bet (0-00-1-2-3) paying 6 to 1, and the
“00 bet,” which pays 17 to 1 by betting on 0 and 00.

Still with me? Good, that’s about as hard as it gets and you don’t even have to memorize it,
you can carry those figures around (you will eventually learn them by heart).
Winning by being an outsider!

The outside bets pay less to winners, but are much more intuitive to learn:

 Winning on a color bet pays 1 to 1;

 Winning on an odd or even number pays 1 to 1;
 Winning on a column or on 12 numbers pays 2 to 1;
 Winning on a dozen-group bet pays 2 to 1;
 Winning on a high or low bet pays 1 to 1.

This all sounds simple. So what’s the trick?

Well, the first thing you have to know is that betting on the tables at CryptoBet is super
easy once you know the rules—our user interface is quite friendly, so you always know
where to click—and while many online casinos out there have only American roulette, we
at CryptoBet have the American roulette, along with the European and French roulette
(rules remain the same and the main difference is the table layout; if you ever go to play in
Monte Carlo, you’ll be glad you’re familiarized with the French roulette).

The other thing you should know is how the odds are stacked: all roulette tables give a
slight edge to the house, and American tables raise that edge by adding the “00”—but this
doesn’t mean you’re at a disadvantage here, as people have been calculating mathematical
methods to improve the odds for centuries now, from Joseph Jagger at Monte Carlo in
1873, to the $3.8 million win of legendary player Billy Walters at Atlantic City in 1986.

What you should not do is try to predict a future result by judging past events; if the white
ball has consistently fallen on reds, do not assume it’s going to fall on red again—and if
you do, be modest with your bet.

Strategies for playing online—and in the flesh!

Something you definitely can try is putting an eye on how the croupier behaves: Some
croupiers have patterns where they spin the wheel and release the ball at a specific time,
meaning the ball will always start its journey around a specific number. Keep an eye on
that, and plan a strategy if you do identify this.

If you’re playing with online casinos, then my best advice to you, and I’m talking from
experience here, is to first of all choose a casino that offers you all the things you’ll find at
CryptoBet: It has to be easy to use, with a great variety of casino games, safe, and with
confirmed payouts. Now, do not ever, ever, accept help from anyone when playing roulette.
Scammers out there are going to contact you on the internet and try to convince you that
they know how the software works, or what the numbers are going to be on a specific day.
Do not fall for that, friend.

How much you’re going to win truly depends on how much you can risk, and what’s your
style as a player; outside bets in roulette are always going to give you more of an
advantage, but they pay less. If you’re comfortable with that and take small steps to bigger
profits, this is just how you should play. Other players, however, can risk bigger funds and
bet on both outside and inside bets, which is where you can make the most earnings on the
shortest time.

But can I even play roulette with cryptos?

Goes without saying, lots of casinos out there only have roulette games with American
currency, or even Euros. CryptoBet will give you the roulette experience that best suits
your tastes and style, and it can all be paid in cryptocurrencies, so if you like to have fun
with crypto and perhaps want to expand your earnings, this is just the place to try.

For now, I’ll leave you by saying that there are many betting systems for roulette, with their
flaws and merits, and we’re going to cover them at a future post, because after reading this
you should have a solid footing into how to be better at playing roulette. Calculate the risks
by considering what type of roulette you’re playing, how much you can win by outside
betting (against inside betting) and if you’re playing with a live croupier, or physically at a
casino, keep an eye on how the croupier behaves—it might be you catch something that
will work in your favor.
