About the artist

Guitarist and composer Brett Vachon comes from a musical family and has been playing guitar since the
age of 8. He has over six years of teaching experience and has worked with children and adults of all ages,
both in an individual as well as group setting. His musical background is varied as well. While studying and
performing the guitar as a soloist, he has also played viola in string ensembles and orchestras as well as
participating as a French horn in various groups, including concert bands, orchestras and musical theatre pit
bands. His knowledge of these instruments gives him a unique approach to composition and teaching. He
obtained a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from the University of Montreal in 2010, studying Guitar
Performance. Outside of music, he has a passion for languages and speaks fluent French, English and
intermediate Mandarin Chinese.
