4th ENGINEER
HAND OVER REPORT

2 MACHINERY CONDITION
3. AIR COMPRESSORS
Two Main air compressors run without difficulties. They are maintained as per makers’ instruction and
planed job schedule. Oil level should be monitored daily (add oil until the middle of sight glass)
4. PUMPS
General note for all Pumps: Monthly changeover of all Pumps required.
ME Lube Oil Priming Pump– operate normally.
Jacket Cooling FW Pumps: # 1; #2 - operate normally
ME Jacket Water Pre-Heating Pump – operates normally.
Low Temperature Central Cooling FW Pumps # 1 & # 2 – operate normally.
ME FO Supply Pump #1& # 2 – operate normally.
ME FO Circulating Pumps # 1 & # 2 – operate normally.
ME FO Viscosity Control Unit - adjusting by manually, automatic work not properly.
Cooling SW pumps # 1; #2 operate normally. Harbor pump not in order
Ballast Pump #1– operate normally. ; #2 is not in working conditions
Fire and General Service Pump #1 & Fire Pump #2 – operate normally.
Sludge Pump – operates normally.
Sanitary Water Pumps # 1 & # 2 – operate normally.
Circulating Hot water Pump #1, #2 – operates normally.
Emergency Fire Pump – operates normally.
5. BOOSTER UNIT
ME Fuel Oil Heater and Electrical heater working normally.
ME Booster Pumps N1 and N2 in normal condition. (Slight leak on # 2)
6. FW GENERATOR
Average daily production – 6 to 8 m3. Regular Maintenance done. Chemical cleaning of Evaporato r and
condenser carried when it is necessary. Last cleaning was on 24 August
9. SEWAGE SYSTEM
Working properly. Maintained in order. Sewage compartment cleaned in March 2021. As per Manuel
instructions, I highly recommend cleaning the entire unit in September
HT water is also tested weekly. The chemical dosage is in range. The chemical should be
added HT Expansion TK as result of analysis. ROCOR NB LIQUD (or its substitute CORROSION
CONTROLLER) is being used to HT water for treatment.
Lube oil analysis should be done weekly. M/E end A/E weekly.
You are the in charge person for sludge discharge. Sludge pump is in good working condition,
prior for sludge discharging , 1 or 2 days before arrival in port heat up the sludge to 50-60c’ , and clean
the pump’s filters.
The pump capacity is 10 m3 /hr. but the actual pump rate may vary from 6 to 7 m3 per hour.
You are also In charge of Sludge transferring from bilge to dirty oil TK depend of Chief Engineer
order. Before making any transfer, inform the C/E or 2/E. Take a sounding before and after the transfer
on the tank.)
2.1 SOUNDINGS :
HFO TANKS : 32 and 33 the total height is 12m40cms , 30 and 31 the total height is 10m
( Ullage is preferable for HFO Tanks )
MDO TANKS : 38 and 39 are 11m and 10m80 respectively (Deep sounding is preferable )
Settling and Service Tanks , just check the level on the gauge ( Drain the tanks daily )
18. PURIFIER
19.4 ME LO Purifier
ALFA LAVAL purifier with warm-wheel. A new three way valve has been put , just make sure
to start the pump and empty the system of the air it contains and start the purifier.
Last overhaul was on 2nd July, 2021, all gaskets changed
SPARE PART
All spare parts of purifiers you can find it in engine room workshop locker, with designated boxes.
