Extract from the Constitution of Republic of Macedonia

Article 68
The Assembly of Republic of Macedonia:
- ratifies and changes the Constitution
- enacts laws and gives authentic interpretation of the laws
- brings government budget
- determines the public duties;
- brings republic budget and the final account of the budget;
- brings the spatial plan of the Republic;
- ratifies international agreements;
- decides on war and peace;
- makes decision over any changes concerning the borders of the Republic;
- makes decisions on entry and departure from any sort of union or community with
other countries;
- issues notice of referendum;
- makes decisions over the reserves of the Republic;
- sets up councils;
- elects the Government of Republic of Macedonia;
- elects judges of the Constitutional court of Republic of Macedonia;
- conducts election and discharges of judges;
- makes decision and releases over other holders of public and other offices;
- conducts supervision over the Government and other holders of public office;
- performs amnesties;
- performs other tasks determined by the Constitution.

Article 69
The Assembly may work if its session is attended by majority of total number of members of
the parliament. The Assembly decides with the majority votes of the attending
representatives, with the minimum of one-third of the total number of representatives, if it is
not provided particular majority by the Constitution.
Article 70
The sessions of the Assembly are public. The Assembly can decide to work without the
presence of the public by two-third of the votes from the majority of the representatives.
Article 71
The right to propose an enactment of law is given to every representative of the Assembly,
The government of Republic of Macedonia and at least 10.000 voters. The initiative for law
enactment can be given to the authorized proposers by any citizen, group of citizens,
institutions and associations.

Article 74
The Assembly makes decision on changes of the borders of the Republic with two-third
majority votes of the total number representatives. The decision on changes in the borders of
the Republic is adopted by referendum, if it is voted by the majority of the total number of
voters.

Article 91
The Government of the Republic of Macedonia.
- confirms the policy of executing the laws and other regulations of the Assembly and
is responsible for their execution.
- proposes laws, government budget and other regulations that are brought by the
Assembly.;
- proposes a spatial plan to the Republic.
- proposes decision for the reserves of the Republic and make sure of their execution;
- brings regulations and other acts for the execution of the laws.
- asserts principles for internal organization and work for ministries and other
administrative organs, directing and supervising their work;
- gives opinions for law proposals and other acts which are submitted to the Assembly
by other authorized proposers;
- decides on the recognition of countries and governments;
- establishes diplomatic and consular relations with other
countries;
- makes decision on opening diplomatic-consular representatives abroad;
- proposes appointment of ambassadors and representatives of Republic of Macedonia
abroad and appoints chiefs of consular representative offices;
- proposes public attorney;
- making appointments and dismisses of holders of public and other functions
determined with the Constitution and laws; and
- performs other tasks determined by the Constitution and law.
