The assignment

Answer the following question in a 200-300 word essay:

Let's say you wanted to conduct a study on how exposure to sexually explicit music
lyrics is related to sexual behavior among adolescents. What research method
would you use to address this question and why did you select this method over
other posible methodologies?

In order to carry out the choice of the research methodology, it must be

considered that it is born, at the moment in which we consider the area of study,
the objectives and clear is the type of information. But in addition to this, a series of
guidelines must be considered with respect to the study. Under the assumption
that we wish to conduct a research on the exposure of a content with sexual
behavior in adolescents, it is best to stick to the mixed methodology since
according to Pacheco & Blanco (2015) with this type of approach we seek a better
understanding of the problem from the qualitative and quantitative look.

Since, when working with qualitative data, i.e. with open information, and
with quantitative data, i.e. closed information, the analysis exercise allows us to
see both sides of the problem. Therefore, Ortega (2021) states that implementing a
mixed methodology allows us to have a great breadth and depth in the
understanding and corroboration of the phenomenon studied, in this case the
influence of a certain type of music on behavior. On the other hand, this
methodology will allow us to triangulate and identify aspects of this phenomenon
with greater precision by approaching it from the two proposed approaches.
Finally, this study is intended to be correlational, since the two variables are in
constant play, but also Sampieri et al., (2014) states that this methodology is ideal
when seeking to validate data, when we want to elaborate, clarify or build on the
findings of the phenomenon studied and finally when seeking to explain findings
regarding the relationship between two variables within a phenomenon.
