Apply glue to the tab on the end of one of the outer
side walls and fit it to the outer rear wall assembly (see
Fig 5). Use the tabs on the outer rear wall for guidance
and ensure the walls are flush at their bottom edges.

Fig 6 – Folding Outer Roof Tabs

Apply glue to the unprinted side of each tab in turn and

glue to the unprinted side of an inner roof edge. Use
the triangles on the inner roof edge to form the shape
of the ridges of the roof (see Fig 7). Hold in place until
the glue is dry before moving on to the next tab (press
down with the corner of a ruler or similar tool), and
make sure the roof edge is pushed well up into the apex
of the roof.

When gluing the inner and outer roof sections together,
do not apply too much glue, to prevent warping. It is
best to apply glue only to the top and bottom of each
‘furrow’ formed by the roof ridges.

fit snugly between the front and rear walkways, on the
inside of the side walls (see Fig 11). Trim the tabs if
necessary to achieve a good fit.

Turn the model onto one side. (It may be necessary to
stand the model on a suitable flat object, to avoid
damaging the protruding front and rear walls.) Gently
lift the large tab on the side of the roof and apply glue
underneath. Press the tab against the wall whilst at the
same time ensuring that the roof is pressed fully down
against the walls and walkways.
Glue the tab at the other side of the roof in a similar
manner.

Variations
The model may be constructed without the side blocks,
as described earlier (see Fig 19).

Fig 16 – Side Block Folded and Glued

Fold and glue the remaining three side blocks in a

similar manner.
Apply glue to the tabs around the open side of each
side block and fit against the front and rear walls of the
model (see Fig 17).

Fig 19 – Hangar without Side Blocks

Two hangars may also be joined together, either side-

by-side, as shown in Fig 20, or back-to-back, as in Fig
21.
Both techniques can be used to create a four-bay
hangar (see Fig 22).
Two hangars can also only be joined together with an
additional office or workshop block between them.

Fig 17 – Fitting Side Blocks

Hangar Doors
The hangar doors can be fitted in the closed position if
desired, in which case they should not be folded.
Otherwise, they should be folded in ‘concertina’
fashion and glued into place on the inside of the front
wall, immediately beneath the front walkway. If
necessary fix a spare piece of card behind the doors to
hold them in the required position. The width of the
doors can be set by adjusting the bend of the folds. If
necessary some of the door sections can be removed to Fig 20 - Two Hangars Side-by-Side
reduce their overall width.

Attaching Office/Workshop Blocks

Office and workshop blocks are available as separate
models which are designed to fit at the sides of the
hangar. These can be attached between the extended
end sections of the front and rear walls (the side blocks
should not be fitted in this case).
