Welcome to the Vyllage-On-The-Cheep™ Sampler
Set. The six pages in this set will construct five full
color buildings that will give you just a taste of our
new and improved Vyllage-On-The-Cheep™. This set
contains over 50 buildings and over 100 stand-up
characters from our popular and best selling Vyllage-
On-The-Cheep™ Cardstock Building Set. All of the
buildings have been improved from our original
release, with many completely redesigned, and all
rendered in realistic color. The package also includes
new doors, windows and signs so a single building
can be converted into other structures and businesses
to create a huge fantasy gaming environment for
hours of enjoyment.
DISCLAIMER
We have made every effort to make sure that all
parts fit together properly, but sometimes tolerances
are tight and mistakes do happen. Test fit all pieces
before applying glue. Some trimming may be
required.
Before photocopying or printing these pages on
cardstock, you may wish to assemble a test copy on
plain paper to better understand the construction. A
minimum of 65# cover stock is recommended for
constructing the final models. Regular 20 lb. bond
paper can be used, but these items were designed for a
heavier stock for extra durability and coloring.
Tools Required:
Scalpel or sharp-bladed hobby knife
Metal ruler or straight-edge
Cutting surface - a self-healing cutting mat is
recommended, but a sheet of corrugated cardboard or
even heavy poster board will work as well.
Glue - white glue, glue stick or wax stick. Double
sided cellophane tape also works well. Rubber cement
can be used, but will sometimes stain the cardstock or
make it more difficult to color.
A Note About Using White Glue
White glue contains a good deal of water. Too
much glue will warp the card stock so that its almost
unusable. Warping may also cause the parts to fit
together incorrectly. If you use white glue, put a very
thin coat on the glue tabs - the thinner the better. You
can use a cotton swab or your finger to spread the
glue thin. Remember to keep a damp paper towel
handy to remove any excess glue.
PLEASE NOTE:
Each item has been marked with a series of Grey
Lines that are an indicator that these lines are Fold or
Score lines. All Tabs which are to be glued to hold the
structures together are marked with a capital letter (G).
Unless otherwise noted, all Glue Tabs fold inwards to
the structure.
SOME GENERAL CONSTRUCTION NOTES:
Most of the pieces in this set will construct using
the box method. Cut out and score the building as
indicated and fold into a box shape and glue the last
tab to the inside to close. If the building sides are in
two pieces, glue the two together to form one long
strip before folding into a box. To attach a roof, fold
down the tabs along the roof peaks of a building,
apply glue, and set the roof in place. Some roofs are
two pieces. Glue the two sides together using the tab
on the one side. Be sure that the roof tile pattern is
running down the roof from the center. Other pieces
in this set will assemble as stand-ups. To construct,
fold the piece into a triangular shape and glue one of
the bottom “feet” on top of the other. Instructions for
other pieces will be given in the instructions for that
particular building.
THE VYLLAGE CRYER
Cut out and score the building section as indicated.
Start with the front panel (the one with the door on it)
and fold to match the angles on the left side wall. Glue
the tabs to the inside. When dry, repeat for the left
side wall. When this section is dry, fold over the rear
wall and glue the tab to the inside. To attach the roof,
fold down all tabs along the top of the building, apply
glue and attach the roof. The long narrow sign can be
attached to the area above the door while the bulletin
board can be attached to any wall as desired. Fold the
large, free-standing board into a triangle shape and
glue one of the bottom panels on top of the other. The
figure of the Vyllage Cryer is assembled the same
way. For a final touch, the sign (with the crossed quill
pens and bell) is folded into a triangle with both of the
printed sides to the outside. It can then be glued over
the window on the building front as shown in the
photograph below.

Before mass communication, the Vyllage Cryer was the only
way to get the news about. Handbills and broadsides were posted
outside the shop or on the building sides. These shops also
served as scribes for legal or official documents.
OLD JOE’S BOTTLE & BONE SHOPPE
This building will construct exactly like the Vyllage
Cryer, given above. It has several additional windows
and an additional chimney. To construct the chimney,
fold into a box, fold down the tabs along the top and
glue the top panel in place. The bottom tabs are then
folded in and the chimney is then glued in place along
the center peak of the roof.

Old Joe is the owner and operator, buying bones, rags, rubbish
and refuse from the common folk. Pando and Larr are his twin
grandsons. They're on hand in case any of Old Joe's customers
get "rowdy".
THE SHACK
The main building will construct as a simple box.
Build the house first and then the chimney. To
construct the chimney, fold in the side panels and fold
the tabs on these panels to the back. Fold down the
two triangular tabs at the top and glue the top of the
chimney in place. Fold down the back panel and glue
to the long tabs on the side panels. When dry, glue in
place on the side of the house. Place the roof on the
building in the using the method described above. The
outhouse is a simple box with a flat roof. The fences
will construct as stand-ups.

A typical dwelling of the lower classes that populate the
Vyllage. You'll find several scattered around town.
THE OLD VYLLAGE TAVERN
Glue the two sides of the building together and
construct as a box. The roof is in two sections and
must be assembled before attaching to the house.The
sign is optional and can be placed over the front door.

A small, but well respected establishment in the Vyllage. For
those who wouldn't be caught dead at the Orc & Cleaver.

so that they are centered and the bottom of the
dormer lines up with where the main roof and skirt

the tabs along the dormer top and the two tabs at the

What is it? A wizard's house, or an armory. Maybe a garrison
for the town guard. With additional signs and windows from the
Vyllage CD, it can become whatever you might need for a night
of gaming and adventure.

Cut out and connect the two sides of the building
body, but do not assemble into a box just yet. Cut out
the indicated section on the building front. Cut out
and score the recessed doorway also located on Page
Two. Fold all four sides of the doorway up and all the
glue tabs around the edges to the out. Fold the
triangular glue tabs at the top and bottom of the
doorway and glue to the outside of the side walls. This
will create a box with all the printed sides on the
inside. When dry, apply glue to the outside tabs and
attach the doorway over the cut-out section from the
