DISCIPLINES AND IDEAS IN THE APPLIED SOCIAL SCIENCES

Activity 1

Objectives; This activity aims to collect your thoughts and feelings related to your
experiences in meeting with your guidance counselor. It serves as an opportunity to
express how you feel about your “guidance experience.”
Instruction:

1. Recall your best “guidance experience.” Identify the different thoughts and emotions
that were triggered by this experience.

2. Draw any symbols that would best illustrate the thoughts and feelings you had during
your best “guidance experience” on a piece of paper.

3. Work silently and finish the task in 1 minute. After the allotted time discuss the
following;
4. What are your thoughts about the activity? How do you feel about it? In what ways
had your guidance counselor helped you in dealing with your problem.

5. What do you like most about your guidance counselor?

ღ I liked how the guidance counselor speaks. Whenever she’s talking, you can
actually feel and see peace. If peace was a person, it was my counselor. Also, if
she speaks, you’ll eventually stop what you’re doing and will have no choice but
to calmly listen to her.
