1.0 INTRODUCTION

What is COVID-19?

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by severe acute

respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), a virus closely related to the SARS
virus. The disease was discovered and named during the 2019–20 coronavirus
outbreak. Those affected may develop a fever, dry cough, fatigue, and shortness of
breath. A sore throat, runny nose or sneezing is less common. While the majority of
cases result in mild symptoms, some can progress to pneumonia and multi-organ
failure

The causative agent involved in the current outbreaks of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19),
SARS-CoV-2 (genus: Betacoronavirus), belongs to the family of Coronaviridae, a large family of
enveloped, positive-sense single-stranded RNA viruses. Coronaviruses are transmitted in most
instances through large respiratory droplets and contact transmission, but other modes of
transmission have also been proposed.

The time of survival and the conditions affecting SARS-CoV-2 viability in the environment are
currently unknown. According to studies assessing the environmental stability of other
coronaviruses, the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus (SARS-CoV) is estimated to
survive several days in the environment, and the Middle East respiratory syndrome-related
coronavirus (MERS-CoV) can withstand more than 48 hours at average room temperature (20 °C)
on different surfaces [1-3].

2.0 Process of Disinfection

• One of the most effective ways to fight the spread of the new coronavirus is to disinfect
highly touched surfaces.
• Across the world, disinfection teams have descended upon kindergartens, state capital
buildings, markets, mosques, airports, and public roads.
• Disinfecting surfaces that are commonly touched, such as in hospitals, schools, and
religious sites, can help kill germs.
• Due to the potential survival of the virus in the environment for several days, the premises
and areas potentially contaminated with SARS-CoV-2 should be cleaned before their re-use,
using products containing antimicrobial agents known to be effective against coronaviruses.

A professional team of trained supervisors and cleaners will work on sterilising and disinfecting all
the areas of a property, concentrating on high-touch areas. We adhere to all OSHA regulations and
strictly follow the most state-of-the-art procedures when it comes to disease cleanup and
disinfection. Coronavirus (COVID-19) is still novel, so we continually update guidelines as per
Ministry of Health and WHO recommendations for up-to-date information.

total elimination of the coronavirus. We guarantees that our cleaning protocol curbs the spread
and threat of coronavirus. However, we cannot guarantee with 100% certainty the total
eradication of it.
