(5 marks) b) Figure Q1b shows a single line diagram of a two bus system. i) Express the per unit bus admittance matrix, Yiu for the given system. (5 marks) ii) Compute the phase angle and reactive power at bus 2 using Newton Raphson Load Flow method up to first iteration by taking the initial phase angle at bus 2 is 6, =0°. By using Fast Decoupled Load Flow method, i) Express the admittance and susceptance matrix of B' and B" for the given system (6 marks) ii) Compute the voltage and angle at bus 2 and bus 3 up to first iteration. The initial voltage of bus 2 is V,=1.020°pu and angle at bus 3 is given as 63=0° pu, respectively. Hence, solve the reactive power generated at bus 3. ( marks) b) Two generators A and B, each generating voltage of 1.0 per unit supplies an electrical network arranged as shown in Figure Q3b. The parameter are given in Table Q3b. Using the base of 250 MVA and 20 KV at motor (load) and the location of fault is at bus 3, calculate: i) _ the base voltage at each zone. i) the new per unit reactance. iii) the actual fault current and MVA fault level at the indicated zone. (S marks) b) A single-phase, 5 MVA, 20/8.66 KV transformer is protected by a differential relay with taps. Available relay tap settings are 5:5, 5:5.5, 5:6.6, 5:7.3, 5:8, 5:9 and 5:10, giving tap ratios of 1.00, 1.10, 1.32, 1.46, 1.60, 1.80, and 2.00. Based on the given parameter, select the suitable CT ratios and relay tap settings. Then, determine the percentage mismatch for the selected tap setting.
