Reflection No. 6

We have known some features of the best countries in the world. From the information we have
gained, what do you think are the factors that make them great countries? How can we make our
very own country be at par also in the years to come?

There are many factors why countries excel. I personally believe that, first and foremost a
country needs Good Governance. As observed from other countries, it is the government who leads
changes, improvements, laws, and policies for the betterment of the country. And it is not surprising
because it is part of their responsibility, and job. However, in some isolated cases, it is what the
Philippines Lack, Good Governance. In my humble opinion, the governance of those who are in
authority are affected by the Political party they belong which affects their performance and support to
laws and policies implemented by other persons in authority. In short there is no UNITY among these
leaders. That is why the Philippines does not excel much. Usually, programs and projects are not
sustained when the other political party vacates the position. It seems like we tend to always go back
from the start than sustaining what was already begun. Another factor is the Attitude of People if only
Filipinos are more disciplines and law-abiding citizens, it could have been easier for the government to
implement programs and laws The attitude and the trust of people to the Philippine Government is not
that sturdy for everyone to believe which makes it difficult for the country to rise. The last one is the
availability of resources and opportunities these two must be available for the people. It gives then an
opportunity to take part of what the Philippines in the future might be. Empowering Filipinos to be
globally competitive and functional can be of great help for the country to be at par in the years to
come. We must be united with same goals to alleviate our country. It is also the Filipino people who will
benefit. We also must maximize the skills, talents, potentials, and ideas that Filipinos have for the
benefit of the improvement of our country. We must not forget that each and everyone of us (Filipinos)
has always have the power to change our situation and always has something to contribute.
