M11: Assignment - Food

for the Family

The first step I took to cook was to brainstorm ideas of what I could make. I finally came up with
making pasta with chicken and salad.

I didn't need to make a grocery list as all the items were present at home.

I used this recipe but also added chicken https://lilluna.com/creamy-garlic-penne-pasta/.

Written response:

1) What meal was prepared for you. (breakfast, lunch or supper?)

The meal prepared for me was lsupper.

2) What foods were served to you?

I was served whte sauce pasta and salad with a glass of water on the side.

3) On a scale of 1 to 5 with one being low and five being high, rate the foods that you
ate based on the following criteria. Feel free to explain why you rated the way that you
did:

The pasta was ⅘ as it tasted great but was a little undercooked

The salad was 5/5 because it tasted great.

● the way each menu item looked/way it was presented

The salad was a ⅘ and the pasta was a 3/5

● the amount of effort demonstrated by the student in this course

I think it was a 5/5 since she has never cooked anything before and did everything by
herself

● an overall rating of the whole dining experience.

I’ll rate it a 4/5 since most of it was great.

Reflection:
I had a lot of fun cooking this meal as it was my first time and I had no idea how hard it would
be. It made me feel a lot more grateful to my mom for her amazing food and how much time it
takes her to prepare all of our meals. It was a little hard to remember all the cross contamination
but overall it was a good experience. I would overall rate 10/10.
