carbonated drink brands in the
world, why do you say so?
2. How do they compare and differ
from each other?
3. What is "The Pepsi Paradox"?
4. In terms of the following aspects,
what brand do you think is better
than the other?
• Taste
• Variety
• Branding/Advertising
• Local and International

5. Cite at least 2 other set of brands
that as highly competitive as Coke
vs. Pepsi? (e.g., Colgate vs Close
Up, Safeguard vs. Lifebuoy, etc.)
In my honest opinion, Coca-Cola and Pepsi
are recognizable everywhere we go. Even
though they have different variants, the fact
that Coca-Cola and Pepsi offer almost the
same satisfaction that their products could
give means that every store and market has
Coca-Cola and Pepsi in their items or either
one of them. According to new research,
these two powerhouses control the market
share of the carbonated soft drink (CSD)
industry: Pepsi-Co, Inc. and The Coca-Cola
Corporation. Since 2004, The Coca-Cola
Company has been the market leader. In
2015, Coca-Cola's carbonated soft drink
market share amounted to 42.5%. The next
market leader is Dr. Pepper Snapple. In 2020,
Pepsi-Co had a market cap of $188.6 billion,
while Coca-Cola had a market cap of $185.8
billion (Much of the Global Beverage Industry
is Controlled by Coca-Cola and Pepsi, 2020).
We know Pepsi and Coke are locked in an endless battle, but I
have some wonderful knowledge for everyone. The difference
between these two competing beverages isn't that significant.
Perhaps that's why some individuals are unable to distinguish
between the two, even though most people can and are quick to
choose one over the other. Pepsi is made up of carbonated water,
high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, sugar, phosphoric acid,
caffeine, citric acid, and natural taste. Coca-Cola's carbonated
water, high fructose corn syrup, caramel color, phosphoric acid,
caffeine, and natural flavors are all found in a Coke.
If we look too quickly, we may miss it. The
main difference in components between
Pepsi and Coke is that citric acid is found in
Pepsi but not in Coke. In terms of nutritional
facts, Coke has a bit more salt than Pepsi,
making the flavor a little less sweet. Pepsi has
a sweeter flavor in this aspect, in addition to
having more calories, sugar, and caffeine.
Pepsi has an early edge in a taste test since it
is sweeter than Coke. Pepsi has a zesty flavor
burst, unlike Coke, which has a richer raisin-
vanilla flavor. The explosion, on the other
hand, tends to dissipate over the course of a
can. In a nutshell, Pepsi is a drink that was
created to perform wonderfully in a sip test.
It's remarkably precise, now that we think
about it. Citric acid is responsible for the
citrus explosion in Pepsi, and the raisin-vanilla
flavor in Coke makes it a little smoother on
the tongue. In other words, if we want citrus,
we'll probably choose Pepsi, and if we prefer
the raisin-vanilla flavor, we'll choose Coke.
The Pepsi Paradox

In the United States, the

Coca-Cola Company
provides over 800 varieties
and over 500 brands.

Coca-Cola recognizes the need

to communicate with customers
on a more personal, localized
level, as well as the importance
of brands over products.

Coca-Cola, the world's most

well-known brand, knows a
thing or two about successful
worldwide marketing.
The two largest coffee-focused
restaurant franchises in the United
States are Starbucks and Dunkin'. In
terms of market valuation and
worldwide store count, Starbucks is a
larger firm. With a more premium
brand, locations that seem more like
cozy coffee houses, a more extended menu, and greater product
customization, Starbucks has also established a more premium
brand. Dunkin' locations resemble more typical fast-food
establishments, and their prices are more competitive than
Starbucks'. Most Dunkin's outlets are franchises, giving the company
more exposure to franchise and rental income opportunities.

When it comes to choosing between Duracell

and Energizer, there is no clear victor when it
comes to choosing between these two big
battery manufacturers. Both brands employ the
most up-to-date technology and are similar in
other ways. It's entirely up to you whether you choose Duracell or Energizer.

Fast-food chains such as McDonald's and

Burger King are well-known. Both
establishments have been in operation for
almost 50 years. McDonald's is more well-
known than Burger King, and the former
has a larger footprint than Burger King.
