Women’s underrepresentation in the board of directors in many countries is

prevalent nowadays. It only proves that there is something going on inside the board

By doing this, people’s awareness will increase, and they will be using their critical
thinking to examine whether men and women’s treatments in the workplace are just
and fair

3 To evaluate if the required quotas imposed by European Unions are effective.

VI Statement of the Problem

.

Many women are still discriminated against to this day, especially in the
workplace, and there are still certain misconceptions about gender in some firms;
the goal of the study is to determine if the mandatory quotas established by
European unions are successful.
Specifically, the researchers sought answers to the following questions:
1. What do you think the reasons why majority on the boards of directors are men
rather than women?
2. Do you believe it would be more advantageous if men outnumbered women?
3. What would be the impact if the percentage of women in the board of directors
increased?

VII. Areas of Consideration: (at least 3 for each category)

Strengths
1 Women make up 43 percent of the global workforce today.

3 Women do have jobs and are working their way to the top of the ladder.

1 54 percent of women in workplace are employed below their capabilities and potential.

2 It is harder for women to hold senior-level positions.

3 The median salary for women is roughly 22 percent lower than the median salary for
men.

Opportunities

1 Women are rising to the moment as stronger leaders and taking on the extra work.

2 Women managers are taking more consistent action to promote employee well-being.

3 Women have been trying to break away from norms and standards set by society.

4 Companies need to invest deeply in all aspects of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

2 Within fortune 500 company’s women only account for less than 15% corporate officer
positions and less than 2% of CEO positions.

3 Women of color continue to face significant bias and discrimination at work.

VIII. Alternative Courses of Action: (3 or more solutions with at least

corresponding advantages and
disadvantages)

Solution 1
Some countries come up with an idea of creating infographics containing the
capabilities of women in workplace because they know that women can do what men
are capable of that's why they think the discrimination will be lessen. The infographics
may be posted around the workplace or even around the country.

Advantages of Solution 1

1 Many people will be able to see the information about women that will help the
discrimination to stop or lessen.

2 People will be aware of what's happening in the board of directors.

3 It will help people to have peaceful society.

4 It would gain more support from each other.

5 It is easy to do.

Disadvantages of Solution 1

1 It may be time consuming in posting infographics

2 It may need minimal funds in posting infographics

3 Not everyone will accept the information.

4 The information about women's capabilities may contradict some people.

Solution 2

Men should socialize with women to support gender equality. They can join
campaigns and advocate gender equality through doing posters and advertisements in
social media. By socializing and engaging, it can establish a safe space for women to
express themselves and their real abilities regardless of what society’s gender
stereotypes and expectations are. That being so, it is essential to engage more men in
standing for gender equality for this is the way to bring about change.

1 Greater diversity of viewpoint

2 Can strengthen confidence levels of women

3 It is easy to do especially if there are many people joining to advocate and to promote
gender equality.

4 Fair treatment

5 It fosters peace if it will be successfully promoted by the people.

1 Maybe considered to be unfair

2 May increase the level of frustration in an environment

3 Some men may feel discriminated

IX. Recommendations and Conclusion:

We therefore conclude that the best solution to the problem is alternative course
of action number 1 which is Men should socialize with women to support gender
equality. We should end the stereotyping in gender because we need to see each
other equally no matter what gender you are or someone who is not sure about his or
her gender. We all know that the reason why there is a small percentage of women in
the board is that men cannot avoid underestimating the ability of a women and men
always thought that they are more efficient enough to do the works. Therefore, when
men change their way of thinking many women will be able to show their skills and
strength in the board and women will be comfortable to work with the men in the board
with that kind of action the board can achieve their goal to have 40% of female in the
board seats.
