The remarkable rocket

Oscar Wilde’s short story ‘’The remarkable rocket’’ responds to other fairy tales, as in each
story we can see common problems and real examples happening in life. Characters with
different opinions make confusion. The highlighted person is the remarkable rocket which is
so sensitive. In this story, we can see how self-attitude can change your life and the reason
for failure.

Characters with the ability of speaking define different opinions. Self-confidence is the best
part of humans, but it has some bad sides. A person who thinks that he is more important
than others makes a big mistake. To live on your side you should think about yourself and
then others. There are many skillful and talented people throughout the world, and thinking
about that you are the only one makes no sense. The rocket considers himself the best rocket
there can be. In real life, I met people whose self-confidence was so high and couldn’t realize
their situation. In rocket’s opinion, he was selected specially for the king’s son's wedding. As
a lucky rocket was not experienced. I can’t blame him because he was not well known in real
life and thought he was special for a magnificent wedding. This kind of attitude comes from
families as parents teach children not to be naive and always keep moving forward.

Pointing all the time that you are remarkable is annoying and if people guess it they run
away. Delusion is the most common problem of this fable. The rocket doesn’t take anything
that anyone says. He points his self-importance between other fireworks. On the other side,
letting off is his only and important mission that will look better than other ones.
Occasionally, people can’t see their ability and only talk about philosophical issues as they
are well-educated and experienced. Life is full of complications you never know what may
happen. Sometimes talking can be injurious, as the rocket doesn’t listen to anybody, he lives
in his own world and makes his own rules. This kind of person doesn’t have friends to rely
on in difficult situations. Arrogance can harm your life in a second. There is no importance
that you should do what others say to you, listening and sharing ideas may change your life
totally. Being quiet and listen to others is an expression of respect that is lost between people.
Living in delusion makes people aggressive, in this point the rocket didn’t like when others
taught him. So the best thing to do is not to argue or challenge the delusion. Frog prevented
arguments and went to his road, but the rocket was ready to start fighting. He liked it
because he had answers to everything, his different view of life made him lonely with no
speaker or friend.
The background of the rocket makes him arrogant and superior. He is proud of his parents
and looking forward to his performance. He doesn’t know that it is only one experience. We
can compare this situation with people who think that money can buy anything. This is a
failure for a beginner who creates his future. So the rocket would love to be respected, but it
is impossible as he thinks about his self-importance and he is rude to others. He considers his
opinions permanent and clear, but he can’t guess that everyone has his taste in life. The
background is who you are and you should never forget it but living with it will push you
back. The rocket thinks that the world goes around him but it is not like that. You should be
proud of your experiences and achievements.

The rocket demonstrates selfishness and narcissism. He can’t understand why the cracker
was laughing, for him it is a selfish reason, why does the rocket think that he possesses the
world? I think that every act irritates the rocket, he can’t stand with interrupt and talks
aggressively. His narcissism demonstrates his delusion, as his world is small. He can’t guess
why he was,, bad stick ’’ or thrown into the mud. The king’s palace wasn’t the whole world
and the same can say about the rocket who ,, possessed the world ’’. the rocket’s self-
obsession blinds him. He ignores the need to keep dry and continues being emotional. The
other reason of delusion is that he justifies to be unhappy in a happy day .

In conclusion, the rocket didn’t get what he wanted, the ascent that should be magnificent
and beautiful no one could see it. His beliefs harmed his life and made everything turn out.
The rocket with no friends ended his life pitifully. He thought to be better than others. He
wanted the world, only he should talk and others listen, that was impossible. His life was full
of delusion. In reality, people suffer from delusion and imagine the perfect life that doesn’t
exist. To my mind is what you are not what others want is the best thing ever, the rocket had
this quality but he can’t use it correctly. His self-attitude makes him lonely and stressed. He
was sensitive and nervous, so no one could understand him.
