The story of a love triangle between Tyler, his lover and her boyfriend who is Tyler's friend

told through a 9 minute rap.

HOW DID YOU REACH THE FINAL IDEA? -


The idea for the Wilshire music video has been one I've had ever since I listened to the song
for the first time but I never thought it was some feasible for me to pull off, but I still kept it
in consideration when starting FMP. As I moved on and got some feedback on my ideas it
made me want to do the Wilshire video more and more so I spent a day listening to the song
and doing some risk analysis of doing it such as calculating how many actors, locations and
props I would need to pull it off and if I would need some sort of budget to pull it off, after
doing all this I realised that with enough effort and planning I would be able to get it done. I
knew I would be most motivated to complete as it is the idea, I have always been most
passionate about. I did some calculation to see how much it may cost, and I can make it for
fairly cheap but essentially the better I want it to be the more money I have to put in it, so I
will set up a crowdfund and see if I can get any money to produce it from fans of Tyler.

TARGET AUDIENCE –
My target audience will be between the ages of 16-25 as this is where I believe the majority of
Tyler, The Creator fans to lie between and also is the target audience I know best, and I can
market towards with the most accuracy.

DETAILED FINAL IDEA -


The final idea I came up with for FMP is a music video to the Tyler, The Creator song Wilshire of
his 2021 album "Call Me If You Get Lost". The song itself it 8 minutes and 34 seconds long, and
tells the real story of Tyler's love triangle between him, his lover and her boyfriend who is
Tyler's good friend. The song sees Tyler venting his frustrations whilst telling the story and
acknowledging that he was in the wrong but sometimes he just had to follow his gut instinct to
keep her in his life. The song was recorded in a single take so little interludes appear in-between
verses allowing me to create a more cohesive story during these parts. The story begins from
the first interaction between Tyler and the girl and then ends with the end of their relationship,
As I want to create depth with the characters and have it be more emotionally impactful I will
extend the run-time and have some small dialogue parts between Tyler and the girl to properly
show the chemistry between them, but the song already does a great job in telling the story and
having it be well paced to fully understand the depth and emotion to it as it is one of Tyler's
more emotional and raw songs.
