In performing the Foundation Form 1 in Taekwondo, these fitness components are evident:
agility, balance and coordination. Agility is the ability to change direction quickly. Performing the
Foundation Form 1 requires us to shift our body from left to right, and vice versa, constantly. Balance, on
the other hand, is the ability to remain stable even when moving. Since the Foundation Form 1 requires us
to do a repetition of some movements, having a good balance and stability will help prevent injuries.
Lastly, coordination is the ability to use vision, touch and muscle sense. With this, we learn to use each
part of our body in the most efficient way possible and execute the moves accurately.
