1. What are the disturbances that cause fear to the characters of the story?
Answer: Fears of being tormented by a black monkey and attacked by a fugitive
Japanese prisoner.
2. What Carlo did to relieve NENA’s fear.
Answer: Carlo gave her a rifle with which to kill the black monkey.
3. How did Nena overcome her fear in the story?
Answer: Nena killed the black monkey with the use of rifle. With the death of the black
monkey she overcame all her fear.
4. Lesson learned in the story.
Answer: The lesson of the story is about facing your anxieties and fear with courage to
defend yourself against threats.
