On-Campus Transportation Process and Responsibilities

DRC Transportation Student, Staff and Faculty Responsibilities


Information • Verify disability with the DRC before rides can begin.
DRC Office: Building 124-119 • Complete Temporary Student Application for Services.
Hours: 6:45 AM–7:00 PM • Provide medical documentation from your physician.
Phone: (805) 756-6184 • Review safety training with DRC Transportation before rides can
begin.
• DRC Drivers can only pick up at the designated campus stops
approved by UPD (University Police Department). Please do not ask a
DRC Driver to pick you up at a stop not approved and on our campus
pick up map.
• Obey California state laws requiring the use of safety belts.
• Regularly scheduled riders need to complete a quarterly tram
schedule.
• On-call riders: Call (805) 756-6184 as much in advance as possible.
• Note: Scheduled riders have priority over call-in riders.
• Notify the DRC if there are any changes in scheduled pick-up times or
locations, or to cancel a ride.
• Call in rides for after 4:30pm must be scheduled before 4:30pm the
same day.

No Show Policy
• A “No-show” will cancel all of the day’s scheduled rides unless student
contacts DRC.
• Two consecutive “no-shows” will terminate tram services until student
meets or speaks with a DRC professional staff member.
• Driver will wait no longer than two minutes beyond the scheduled
pick-up time

On-Campus Transportation Safety Training

The Disability Resource Center (DRC) at Cal Poly provides on-campus transportation service to eligible students
registered with our office. Transportation service is available to students with permanent or temporary mobility
or health impairments. The DRC attempts to provide services within two business days of determining a student’s
eligibility, one day if possible.

On-Campus Transportation Ride Schedule


• Be aware that traffic on the hour is hectic, so plan accordingly to ensure you make it to class on time (i.e.
schedule pick-ups 20 minutes before the hour)

Please notify the DRC if:


• There are any changes in scheduled pick-up times or locations.
• You need to cancel a ride(s), or you need a ride that is not on your schedule
• You no longer need campus transportation services.

DRC ride policy:


• Scheduled riders have priority over call-in riders.
• “No show” for the first scheduled ride of the day will cancel all of the day’s rides, unless you contact the DRC.
We will assume you are ill or off campus for the day.
• Two consecutive missed rides will result in cancellation of the remaining scheduled rides for the day.
• The DRC driver will wait at your stop for two minutes beyond the scheduled pick-up time before leaving.
• Pick-ups and drop-offs will be made at marked DRC stops only.
• Seatbelts will be used at all times.
