There are two types of KFC Entry Camps, depending on the age range of a child. Below are

III. Manpower

The success of every Online Entry Camp lies within the people involved in its planning and
implementation. Proper delegation of task, right number of service team members,
preparation time and logistical requirements should be well considered at all times.
The service team for the entry camp should be composed of the KFC Couple Coordinator,
Rock Facilitators and CFC parents who are willing to serve in the activity. It is important that
good role models be tapped to serve in the camp.

1. KFC Chapter Couple Coordinator

The KFC Chapter Couple Coordinator acts as parents to the service team and the
participants. They serve as good role models, watchful of their words and actions,
and striving to provide the best Christian environment for the kids.

All final decisions for the activity are made by the KFC Chapter Couple Coordinator.
The Team Leaders (Rock) and CFC Parents may propose ideas, but the KFC Chapter
Couple Coordinator makes the final decision.

The KFC Chapter Couple Coordinator courses their correction of the Service Team
through the Team Leaders.

Below are some of the basic tasks of the KFC Chapter Couple Coordinator in

VI. Conclusion

The KFC Online Entry Camps are the very heart of our vision of Sharing Christ Joy
to the family and the world. Despite of the pandemic we are experiencing right
now, let us embrace it and do it excellently and joyfully for God.
Workshop 2: Tips in Giving a Virtual Session
Online Entry Camp Training

Objectives:
• To equip Rock Facilitators in delivering the word of the Lord effectively on a virtual
platform
• To guide the Rock Facilitators on how to be resourceful and creative in implementing
the Online Entry Camp

Speakers Profile:
• A KFC Fulltime Pastoral Worker, Mission Volunteer or mature
Sector/Provincial/National Rock Leader who has at least three (3) years of experience
serving as a Rock leader in Kids for Christ.
• Must have an ample experience in delivering sessions.
• Must be interactive, animated, and joyful in giving the session.

Expanded Outline

I. Introduction:
We learned from our Rock Facilitators Weekend Training the importance of storytelling
and speaking to kids as a tool in sharing the message of the Gospel. Given the changes in
this time of pandemic, we are called to explore different ways to deliver the same
message, from our usual physical gatherings into virtual teachings. We have to equip
ourselves with the use of what we have learned from our trainings and convert it to a
more efficient material that is applicable to kids and their families.

II. Here are some tips to make the Virtual sessions fun and effective:

1. Be interactive - You have to build connection with the kids and don’t let attention
decrease.
a. Do not forget to introduce yourself. (Example: Hello! I’m Ate Marian.) Look at the
camera lens so that the kids will feel that you are talking to them directly.
b. Create action connections such as thumbs up, fist bump, etc. to make sure that kids
are participating and that they understand what you are saying.
c. Acknowledge the kids’ actions and be aware of what they are doing. Encourage the
participants to keep their cameras on if possible.
d. If you are recording a video, make sure that you will be interactive. You can insert
yes or no questions (wherein you pause as if waiting for their imaginary answer)
or encourage the viewers to do certain actions. (Such as thumbs up sign, etc.)

2. Be animated - Being animated and lively becomes extremely important when the
audience are kids.
a. Internalize and be familiar with your script specially when storytelling. When
reading the gospel, giving the activity pep talk, make sure you read and speak
clearly.
b. Use facial expressions and big body movements that would enhance your story or
emphasize your point.
c. When you are reading the gospel or storytelling, use the right timing. Know when
to pause, speed up, or slow down. Be reminded of the use of dramatic pause. Voice
is also important. Use a variety of voices to identify the characters of the story.

3. Be creative - When giving the activity virtually, make sure you know which material
to use to add impact (PowerPoint presentation, videos, audio
background, etc.).
a. Research which presentation material would be best to use according to your talk
outline/story. In the case of the Online Entry camp, a session presentation is
already provided. The speaker may add materials and resources they deem helpful
in delivering a certain point of the session provided that the message of the talk is
preserved, and the session does not exceed the allotted time
b. Use details like props & costume, sound effects and background music. Make sure
to wear proper attire. Use pastel or bright colors for your clothes if possible as it
is pleasing to the kid's eyes.

4. Be resourceful - In presenting oneself online, find ways to enhance your

appearance, voice, etc.
a. Use plenty of light - Lighting makes a big difference in the quality of video. Use
natural light as much as possible.
b. Use a clean and colorful background - One easy way to get a good look for your
video is to use a plain solid-colored background like pastel colors. Also, try to avoid
messy backgrounds. Virtual backgrounds can be used but make sure it is a solid
background. Moving graphics as background can cause distraction.
c. Prioritize crisp, clear audio - Test your microphone. Your audio quality is more
important than your video quality. Be aware of any background noise. Check Audio
settings. If you are using a headset, please make sure to not put the microphone not
too close to your mouth.
d. Set up your camera - Make sure that your camera is always eye level. It is best to
use a laptop webcam. If you are using tablets or mobile phone, avoid shaky footage
so try using a tripod or set your camera on a sturdy surface.

III. Conclusion

The things we learned today are helpful and will surely equip us in continuing our mission
of evangelizing kids and sharing the joy of Christ to every home. As missionaries, we
should think outside the box most especially in times like this when we cannot do our
usual activities. Let us remember that the Online Entry Camp is where we evangelize the
kids. Therefore, as Rock Facilitators, let us give our best in the Online Entry Camp and
ensure that even if we cannot be physically together, they will be able to grow spiritually
For Rock Facilitators:
Worship 3: KFC LOVING RESPONSES
Online Entry Camp Training

Objective:

• Aims to give the participants a preview of the possible situations that they might
encounter in handling kids and parents in the Online Entry Camp
• Provide an opportunity for them to give solutions on the situations presented to them.

Speakers Profile:

• A KFC Fulltime Pastoral Worker or Mission Volunteer, or Mature

National/Provincial/Sector Rock Leader who has at least 3 years of experience serving as
Rock leader in Kids for Christ.
• Must have a lot of experience in handling difficult situations in an online activity but has
the humility to also be loving in response to these situations.
• Must be interactive, animated, and joyful in giving the session.

Expanded Outline

I. Introduction

“He said to him, “You shall love the Lord, your God, with all your heart, with all your
soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and the first commandment. The second
is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22:37-39 NABRE

Jesus strongly calls us to LOVE. As Rock Facilitators in Kids for Christ, we may be in
situations that can test our capacity to love. This workshop will allow us to be ready and
be aware with some situations in KFC that will call us to respond lovingly. Our
reactions must be full of love, reminding ourselves to love like Jesus.

Guidelines:
1. Participants will be grouped (3 – 5 Members) and assigned in a breakout room
with a Facilitator.
2. Within the time provided, the group must discuss and come up with possible
solutions to the different cases presented and assigned to them.
3. Each group member must participate in the discussion.
4. After the discussion, the Facilitator will summarize their discussion, provide
inputs, and present the suggested solution by the outline.
5. Participants must then return to the main room for the conclusion of the
workshop.
II. Case Studies with possible solutions:

Case # 1
During an online activity, one kid keeps on unmuting his microphone and interrupting the
speaker. As a Rock facilitator how will you encourage the kid to listen and participate?

Possible Solutions for Case #1:

• At the beginning of the activity, make sure to discuss the online etiquette so that
the kids will understand the dos and don’ts during the sessions.
• Check the platform settings. Disable the “Unmute Themselves” option so that the
Technical Director can control the Muting and unmuting of the participants. (Note:
include this on the online etiquette)
• If the kid keeps on unmuting his microphone, give him a few seconds to tell you
what he wants to say and then lovingly tell the kid after that it is now time to listen.
• Message the parent of the participant and ask help in reminding their children to
listen and participate.

Case # 2
In the middle of the preparation of the online entry camp you noticed that your
couple coordinator stopped responding and is not attending the service meetings. What
will you do?

Possible Solutions for Case #2:

• Continue updating the Couple Coordinator with the developments of the Online
Entry Camp preparations.
• Reach out to your Couple Coordinator. Try to set an online 2 on 2’s with them to
know their concern.
• Ask help from their immediate Service Head and/or pastoral Head.

Case # 3
• During an Online Senior Kids Camp, you noticed that there are kids who are not
paying attention and are just playing with their gadgets. As a Rock Facilitator, how
can you encourage the kids to listen and participate in the activity.

Possible Solutions for Case #3:

• Lovingly call the name of the kid who is not paying attention.
Tip: use his/her name in the examples in the story to get his/her attention
• If the kid is still not following, inform the Couple Coordinator about the concern so
that they can address it to their parents.
Case # 4
During your session one kid is using the annotate button and keeps on drawing on your
share screened PowerPoint. Whenever you clear his drawing, the kid gets mad and cries.
As a Rock facilitator, what will you do?

Possible Solutions for Case #4:

• Ask your technical director to disable the annotate at the beginning of the activity.
• Lovingly tell the kids that you will give them time later to do the activity after you
finish your story telling.
Tip: Use the name of the kid during your session to get their attention
• If the kid still insists, inform the Couple Coordinator about the concern so that they
can address it to their parents.

Case # 5
You want to invite your neighbors’ kid to join the KFC Senior Kids Camp in your chapter.
The parents are non-CFC and have no idea about CFC or KFC. How will you invite the kid
to join? And how will you ask the parents to allow their kid to join?

Possible Solutions for Case #5:

• Start by getting to know them first, establishing friendship and a good rapport.
• Inform your Chapter Couple Coordinator so they can set an online meeting with
the parents. The Couple Coordinator will be the one to invite the kid thru the
parents.

III. Conclusion:

Our Calling as a KFC Rock Facilitator is to love. Our response to difficult situations

As KFC Couple Coordinators, we will be placed in situations that will test our capacity to
love. But God’s vision for the Ministry is strong and clear, we are to be His instruments in

Speakers Profile:
• A KFC MM Sector/Provincial/National who knows how to use the Zoom Meetings
application and its basic features.
• He/She must have a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi) and has a laptop/ desktop to use.

Expanded Outline

I. Introduction
Zoom is a web-based video conferencing tool with a local, desktop client and a mobile
app that allows users to meet online, with or without video. Users can choose to record
sessions, collaborate on projects, and share or annotate on one another's screens, all with
one easy-to-use platform.

In this workshop we will know the different functions of the Zoom application such as:
• Creating a registration link,
• Customizing your audio and video settings,
• Creating breakout rooms and assigning participants into rooms,
• Sharing content such as presentations videos, sound and using slides as
background.
• Lastly, a few tips on securing your zoom meeting.

The Technical Director of the Online Entry Camp is essential in making sure that the
technical aspects of the activity runs smoothly. The Technical Director must know how to
use Zoom and its basic features.

Roles and responsibilities:

1. Knows the program well.
2. Have all content ready for screen sharing (video, audio, and presentation)
3. Manage the Breakout Rooms
4. Records and documents the Zoom meeting sessions.

The technical director must host the Zoom meeting and coordinate with the Zoom
account owner to access and change settings beforehand. Some settings can only be
accessed in the Zoom website portal.

II. How to use Zoom

The online entry camp must be hosted in a premium or licensed Zoom account. This
means no 45 minutes’ limit to meeting, access to the breakout rooms and other features.
A free and basic zoom account has limited features.

For a better use of zoom application make sure you have the latest and updated Zoom
meeting application/software.
a. Creating a registration link (Secretariat)
1. Sign in to the Zoom website portal.
2. In the navigation menu, click Meetings.
3. Schedule a New Meeting. Fill in the details.
4. In the Registration section, tick the Required check box then click Save.

Note: Ticking the Required box will generate a unique Meeting ID instead of the PMID
(Personal Meeting ID).

5. After scheduling the meeting, customize the registration by clicking Edit in the
Registration options.
6. A pop-up window will appear. Choose whether you want to be notified if
someone registers, automatic or manual approval of registration, and closing
of registrations.
7. Customize the details you need. Require the FIRST NAME and LAST NAME of
the participants. Add more questions by clicking New Questions in the
Customize Question tab then click Save.
8. To manage attendees, click View to see a list of people that have registered for
the meeting or extract their data.
9. Finally, save all of the settings in the website portal.
10. Add a banner and logo in the branding tab for promotions.

When inviting participants to the Zoom meeting, send the registration link before your
activity for them to register to the event. Using the invitation link directly will lead you to
the registration.

b. Audio and Video setup (Technical Director)

The most common problem we encounter in online meetings is whether the
participants can see or hear you clearly. Zoom automatically adjusts your audio,
so to customize it, click on the Settings icon on the upper right corner just below
the profile picture.

For Audio settings:

1. Click on the Audio tab where you will find the speaker and microphone
devices and another setting.
2. The default is always the device’s speakers and microphone. For better audio,
you can use different devices for either speaker and mic or a device for both.
Use an earphone with a mic so you can be clearly heard.
3. Adjust your desired level of input and output. A green color in the levels is an
indication that you can be heard clearly.
4. If you have a noisy background, suppress it depending on the volume of noise
around you. Avoid using Automatic suppression because noise varies, and it
may suppress your voice too.
5. Enabling Original Sound disables the filters that Zoom uses for your audio. This
option can be made available if you check “Show in meeting option to Enable
Original Sound”.

For Video settings:

1. Click on the Video tab where you will find a preview of your camera’s view.
2. The device’s camera is the default, but you can choose another device (e.g.,
webcam) if available.
3. Adjust the ratio, resolution, and image output by clicking on the boxes
available.
4. Manually adjust the captured video for low light conditions.
c. Breakout room (Technical Director)
Breakout rooms are used when the activity requires to group participants for
separate discussions. This feature can only be accessible by the Host of the
meeting so we must make sure that the technical director is the host.

Enabling the Breakout rooms:

1. Enable the break out rooms feature in Zoom website portal by going to the
Settings under the Personal heading.
2. In the Advanced segment of the settings, look for the Breakout rooms and
enable it.
Setting up the Breakout room:
1. In the bottom menu, look for the Breakout Room icon and click it. A pop-up
window will appear asking for how many rooms needed to be created.
2. After placing the number of rooms, choose whether to automatically or
manually assign the participants. Click create and the breakout rooms will be
generated without any assigned participants yet.

3. To assign participants, just click Assign then choose which participants belong
to the room you created. Renaming participants can be helpful in assigning into
rooms.
Note: Participants can also be automatically moved to Breakout Rooms in the
Options button.
4. Click Open to open all rooms. The participants may see a pop-up window to
Join their assigned breakout room.
5. If they did not see an invitation, ask them to look for the Breakout Room option
in the lower menu for desktops/laptops and the floating Breakout room icon
for smartphones.
6. The host can join in the different breakout rooms and go back to the main
room.

7. Clicking Broadcast message to all sends a message to all participants in the

different breakout rooms.
8. Closing All rooms will give a 1-minute timer for all participants before the
rooms are actually closed.
9. For disconnected participants, the host must reassign them manually.
10. Instruct the participants that they should only click “Leave Breakout room”.
instead of leaving the meeting itself.

d. Sharing Content (Technical Director)

This feature is used to present content such as video, audio, and presentations
to the participants.

Here are some tips on how to use Share screen:

1. Click the Share Screen icon at the bottom of the meeting window.

• Basic option will share the desktop screen, individual
applications/website, and a whiteboard.
• Advanced option will share either slides as background, a portion of your
screen, content from a 2nd camera, or computer sound (music).
• File option will share a specific file from a location (e.g., Drive, Dropbox,
etc.).
3. To share a 3rd party video, make sure to open the video file ahead before
clicking the Share Screen.
4. To share content with audio, make sure to check the Share computer sound
and Optimize for Video Clip boxes for your participants to hear the computer
sound from your device.
5. Click Share to show the content to the participants.
6. To stop the sharing, simply bring the cursor in the top area of the meeting
window and wait for the menu bar to appear. Click Stop share to end.
7. You can also pause the sharing by clicking on the Pause icon or by simply
changing applications.

e. Sharing your slides as a Virtual Background (Technical Director & Speakers)

This feature allows the participants to view your video imposed directly on the
screen shared. To share presentation slides as virtual BG, the requirements for
the recent zoom update and computer requirements must be met.

1. Click Share Screen, then in the Advanced options click Slides as Virtual
Background.
2. Browse and select the PowerPoint file then click Open. By default, your video
will be imposed in the slides.
3. Manage the video and the slides in the meeting controls.
4. Change video size and position by clicking the … button beside the slide
indicator.

f. Security
1. For the entry camp, generate a unique Meeting ID. Do not use your Personal
Meeting ID
2. Require Registration and a Password
3. Enable Waiting Room
4. Disable participants’ ability to record. Only hosts and co-hosts should be able
to record.
5. For promotions, send the Registration Link, Invitation Link, Meeting ID and
Password privately. Do not post Meeting ID Password on social media.
6. Set a Naming scheme for the participants (e.g., Family name First name, etc.)
to identify the participants listed and avoid strangers from entering the Zoom
meeting.
7. Ask participants to turn ON their videos ALL THE TIME since this is an activity.
8. Remove Share Screen and Annotation privileges from participants.
