EVALUATION:
ANSWER: Growth and development happen across the life stages and focuses on the physical,
intellectual, emotional, and social changes.
These are several factors that affect growth and development. First, the heredity. This factor mainly
implies about the biological transmission of the parents to their children. The characteristics of
parents can be transmitted to their offspring such as, intelligence, weight, color, etc.
The second factor is sex. In this aspect, physical and emotional growth are usually change
during the puberty stage. Changes among girls have a huge difference from boys. Girls usually grow
fast during early puberty while boys stay behind girls in height. But when it comes in adolescence,
boys end up taller than girls.
The third factor is, socioeconomic. Socioeconomic simply means, social status. The growth and
development of every child may vary in the social standing of his own family in the society. For
example, if your ancestry is wealthy, then it could not be possible that they can’t buy plenty of foods
and give you a stable life. While the poverty-stricken families whose income is not enough to
provide the needs for their children, the nutritional status will fail. Then it can a cause for the delay
growth of the children.
The next factor is the Nutritional factor. Our body needs vitamins for us to grow fast and
healthy. If a child eats nutritious foods and take vitamins, he can achieve normal growth and good
development emotionally and physically. But when the child is lacking those nutritious foods, he
might become malnourished and affects his normal growth.
The fifth on the list is the hormones factor. Hormones are essential to the reproduction of all
the body systems of our body. Also, hormones are an important factor when it comes to growth and
development. It helps to regulate blood pressure and it is a supporting entity for our growth.
The sixth factor is Pollution. Air pollution mainly brought bad effects on human growth. Also,
pollution from Lead have bad impacts especially on the children. Young children are very vulnerable
to the toxic effects of Leads and may suffered permanent health effects. Added to that, long
exposure to Lead can affect the normal development of the brain and nervous systems.
The seventh factor, the Racial factor. In Africa, the people there have same tone of skins, hair,
facial structure etc. This means that, racial factors can truly influence growth and development of a
particular child.
Lastly the environment factor. For me, environment has an important role in our development.
what we can see and observe in our environment is what the traits we can adapt.
ANSWER: The environment is an important factor that influence our growth and development. It
plays a vital role in our development as an individual. Why? Because the environment directly
influences every person’s behavior. Like for example, when a particular child grew up and is raised
by irresponsible parents and lives in a chaotic community that there’s been a lot of noise, war, etc.
This kind of environment might bring a negative impact on a child’s behavior. And he even brought
that manner in the school or anywhere. When we reverse the situation, if a child grew up in a good
and peaceful community, then surely, he would become a good person as he getting older. To make
it short, our development will also depend on what the environment shows us.
